no1,

If you don't mind, please give me your reasons for being against polygamy.(If all people involved were consenting adults)

Just to let you know, I'm against polygamy but from a moral standpoint, which of course cannot be used as a basis for denial.

I'm interested in hearing the perspective of others and seeing how they argue against polygamy without using a moral arguement.

Thanks.

I disagree Reverend Blair. In Manitoba if you have a marriage license, you have to perform Same Sex Marriages. A man wouldn't perform a same sex marriage because he did not believe that it was right, and the province removed his license. So your comment about the freedom of churches etc... is not entirely true. I myself have no problem with Same Sex Marriages, however I can see where Harper is coming from. Ultimately I do think the Conservatives will suffer because of Stephen Harper's stance, however I really hope it doesn't reflect it in the next election. I truely believe that the Conservative party would be an excellent government after they decide on their platforms.

As long as you have the "neo"conservatives" I seriously doubt that will ever happen...anything would be better than the conservative party now...not that this was always true...I am glad to see that the party is starting to divide...Imagine replacing Joe Clark with that bozo..at least with Joe Clarke even if you did not agree with some of his ideas, he was a good descent man, one you could respect.

That man's job was to represent the province by performing weddings. The province allows same-sex weddings so for him to perform his job he would have to.

There were two Conservative Party members on the news tonight saying that they would vote against L'il Stevie at the convention. If he remains leader they both plan to leave the party. The Reform/Alliance/Conservatives will never form a government. They scare people. They are too pro-American, they are too close to the Republicans, and they are too willing to push their religious beliefs on others. That doesn't sell in most of Canada.

The country as whole has also been moving left for the past ten years or so. Canada is a socially progressive country. The Reform Alliance/Conservatives have been moving the other way. They are out of step with the Canadian people. Because of that if they were to form a government they would do very poorly.

Yo Canadians , the last election wasnt really about gay marriage. If there would be a referendum today , gay marriage would be trashed.

Not in Canada, troll. We believe in rights around here.

Actually, you know what? I am a staunch left winger, big supported of gay rights and I am almost certain that if gay marriage were put to referendum/election, it would lose.

That is why it is essential that we keep the issue out of the public forum and don't let the "tyranny of the majority" to squash the minority.
