Harper sacrifices Alberta to side with Obama

Well that's what it looks like to me. Either Harper didn't do his homework, or he's really super competant.

Some sources say the whole thing about oil prices falling is really a ploy by the US to get even with Russia by manipulating their economy. The thing is when Obama throws sh%$ at the fan by doing this, it may ricochet and hurt a Canadian province, one who's not too happy staying in Canada in the first place. The effects of all this so far doesn't seem to hurt Russia as much as it's hurting Alberta right now with the wells going out of action and the unemployment and misery it's causing.

The separatists have just been given an excuse served up on a silver platter. Dangerous stuff to the integrity of a nation.

When are the boneheads in parliament going to act independantly and stop kissing the US foreign policy a$$.

What an opportunity to show Alberta that we care. Oops, too late.
Just in. A little more info for our skeptics. (Durn, I hate it when I'm right). So how is it this "by the way" editorial just happens to mention oil prices plummeting in the same context as sanctions against the Russions. The US are not known for their subtleties.

"Washington (AFP) - Fitch Ratings cut Russia's credit grade Friday to just one notch above junk level, saying plunging oil prices and Western sanctions will force a four percent economic contraction this year. Fitch lowered its rating for Russian government debt by one step to BBB-, the lowest possible investment grade, and added a negative outlook on the rating."

No, it mentions that because of the 2 the rating has been dropped. It does not say anything about the 2 being orchestrated, nor does it even imply that the 2 have been orchestrated by the U.S.

The drop in oil prices is also effecting American producers too. Not just Canadian producers or Russian producers. It effects all producers. The only one it doesn't effect greatly, at this point, are those that are causing it, OPEC, because they are ALL state run and those "states" can afford to take the loss right now.

The separatists have just been given an excuse served up on a silver platter. Dangerous stuff to the integrity of a nation.

.

The "separatists" don't need an excuse, and they are a VERY small minority in Alberta. They are only important or a factor in their own tiny little minds.

You do realize there's a difference between pumping it from the ground and pumping it into your gas tank don't you?

I see you have a VERY limited understanding of this. No surprise. I also see you ignored the "separatist" comments. No surprise there either.

The ones who buy the stock of the companies that go up the most when the price is in the $175 range and they still show double-digit expansion annually.

Alberta's real calling would be as an open air prison. Little islands of dry land surrounded by a whole lot of swamp that looks the same from one end to the other. In the 'old days' the lines were straight and you could see a very long ways, now on the flats there are breaks every 400M so line of sight is limited to that distance, land areas are selective cut so you probably need a map if you weren't the ones making the original trail. Air drop supplies in, nobody is going to walk over swamp in the summer and in the winter you would need 180 days worth of food because of the size of the maze you are in and winter and snow is indoor time if you want to see another spring.

Say Toronto had an exile plan, one that put you on a raft 50 ft away from the bottom of the falls and the other version put you on the same raft 50 on the same river 50 above the same falls. Which do they want to come back the least? I find it easy to answer.

Ford?.. GMC?... Honda?

.. And what basket(s) should we have our eggs in?

We all benefit from low Oil prices...Who doesn't?

Where you put your eggs is up to you.

I Prefer to Hard Boil/Scramble/Fry, then eat some of my eggs; hatch others...Grow them into something beneficial.Something that will multiply exponentially.

I never put those eggs all in 1 basket. Gotta separate the live eggs from the Duds.

Definitely never put them all in a barrel of Oil...That's just...Silly. ;):)

But nowadays Alberta's full of Newfies.

Can't trust them Newfies. . .

That reminds me of a newfie friend who came here. His wife started making beef sausage one day. He came home from work and smelled it. "What's for supper"' he asks. "sausage", she says. "I figured now that we live in Alberta we should eat more sausage and less fish". He lifts the lid off the frying pan to see lots of little black lumps. "What the hell is that", he asks. "sausage! Once you cut the heads and fails off and gut them, there ain't much left.
