Greta isn't going away, get used to it.
Re. CDN Elections,
I read that the kids voted in school with the same results for Liberals, but the Conservative vote was non existent being replaced by NDP and the Greens.
This is the future and Greta will be a leader, whether you guys like it or not.
The future generations don't want to live in a shit hole world, simple.

The future generations are going to live in a shithole world because it is way too late to turn it around.

We'll be hated for a thousand years because of our wasteful and ignorant ways.

The kids will pay for it too. It's very easy to make the 'green' choices when someone else winds up paying the bill.

But if they really want to change the world, when is Greta going to visit China and yell at their leaders? That might actually make a difference (she might not live to talk about it).

speaking of China, I think Greta would be considered an asset.
Consider.
Cumulative installed PV capacity in gigawatts since 2007
China is the world's largest market for both photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. Since 2013 China has been the world's leading installer of solar photovoltaics (PV). In 2015, China became the world's largest producer of photovoltaic power, narrowly surpassing Germany. In 2017 China was the first country to pass 100 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity, and by the end of 2018, it had 174 GW of cumulative installed solar capacity. As of May 2018, China holds the record for largest operational solar.
n May 2014, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that the solar capacity target had been upped again, now to 70 GW by 2017. In October 2014 China planned to install 100 GW of solar power—along with 200 GW of wind, 350 GW of hydro and 58 GW of nuclear power by 2020. Market research firm NPD Group forecasted that China will have over 100 GW of PV capacity by 2018.[20] In October 2015, China's National Energy Administration (NEA) set an ambitious 23.1 GW target for 2015, upgrading its previous target of 17.8 GW from March 2015, which was already more than the entire global PV capacity installed in 2010.[21] At that time, China planned to install 150 GW of solar power by 2020,[22] an increase of 50 GW compared to the 2020-target announced in October 2014.
The goal set by the Chinese authorities of 105 GW solar capacity for the year 2020 was passed in July 2017. China installed 43 GW of solar power in the first nine months of 2017, already above the 34.5 GW for all of the year. This has caused the Chinese Government to more than double the original quota to 213 GW for the 2020.[23] CCB International Securities Ltd. raised its forecast for China’s solar power capacity to 55 gigawatts from 40 gigawatts for 2018.[24] Of the 6,412 TWh electricity produced in China in 2017,[25] 118.2 TWh was generated by solar power, equivalent to 1.84% of total electricity production.

And yet China just finished an 1850 mile rail line dedicated to coal that will deliver 200,000,000 t per year to power stations in SE China.

It's all good though, their population is going to drop from sky high cancer rates due to all those unscrubbed and unmitigated emissions.

Where do you get that any new coal fired plants will be of any design that the latest and most efficient. Selling the old shit to the newest customers is a NATO tactic. Get paid for a contract that includes the whole country and stop when the 15% that you need is up and running, using the oldest and crappiest parts possible.
China and Russia are not upgrading old plants, these are brand new and coal means the location can be some distance from the closest river. Canada could be shipping out raw tarsand to use the same way we use 'cold mix'. Bring in a big grader every time it gets bumpy and you are good for a few years without any other maintenance. AB and SK don't even get to use any for that purpose, yet we stockpile all the asphalt ground up in the city overlay programs. Gravel has the sand blow away as dust so it is a money-pit. Rails that uses lines that would match any interstate intersection today could have heavy rails as well as hyper-velocity pods for moving lighter things around very quickly.
