Yeah...like it was quite rational for Hitler to annex the Sudetenland.

Big difference!

For one thing, before Russia annexed Crimea, some Western politicians were in the streets of Kiev encouraging what was essentially an attempt to overthrow a government. These same politicians were criticizing the Ukrainian government's use of lethal force against protesters who had already occupied the headquarters of various government ministries and that it is a government's job to maintain the integrity of the body political against violent assault even through legitimate lethal force if necessary. I can guarantee you that if protesters in Ottawa had taken over key government buildings of national practical importance and posed a legitimate threat to the very stability of the state as was the case in Ukraine, we would have used lethal force too, and rightfully so. It would have been a case of martial law and emergency measures.

We should not forget that that double standard was itself motivated by antiRussian prejudices.

We should not forget either that the last Ukrainian president to be elected by Ukrainians of all ethnic groups is now in exile in Russia, the present president having been elected for the most part by the Ukrainian majority only.

We also cannot deny that anti-Russian ethnic prejudice has grown in the region, and ethnic Russians who are Ukrainian nationals do face a tough predicament, especially with Western sentiments having taken the ethnic Ukrainian side for the most part.

None of this is to excuse Russia's unlawful annexation of Crimea. What it dies do though is put it into perspective by showing that we some blame too for having provoked Russia.

Still not quite open carry. If their cars come with dash cams attached because of false insurance claims I wonder if weapons will rate as high or does the vodka take away the aiming ability enough that the shooter is unlikely to hit what he is aiming at anyway, ergo no big deal. We should have done the same when we started having soldiers gunned down in the street. Know what I mean?

Might I suggest that if you don't like it that you go and undo it, starting in Crimea where I am sure you 'rescue' will be met by flowers being laid at your feet. (more likely a wreath)

Exactly

The Crimean residents were mostly Russians, and they voted just like Quebec would to seperate and join Russia..

I like the way Putin did the change over, quick and no bloodshed.

Wish Quebec would hurry up and get lost too.

Now that's where we disagree. Though the West did provoke Russia and pushed its hand in a big way, Russia also crossed the line in its actions too.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Hitler went after the coal in Poland, you are saying Putin is invading his poorest customers (so that mother Russia can absorb the extra cost). You haven't won many wars lately have you?

Must be a bitch to try and condemn Crimea when the search engines draw a blank. lol Good thing we know for sure that is not a sign that all is relatively well.

I think a chick who can shoot a gun and handle one is hotter than hell..

Maybe you're intimidated.. ;)
Leaves them pretty much defenseless in a concealed carry place right. With open carry bandeleros might make a comeback (derringer .22 short and matching wrist bands cheap at only $599 plus whatever tax they have in Russia) and we would know how has she is by how many (not concealed) clips she is packing.

According to the pic putting a pistol grip on a pump shotgun qualifies it as a pistol. Wow, only in Russia.

Right.

With glass ballot boxes, each with a guy holdingf an Kalishnikov standing beside it...........and many extra ballots prepared.

You know, appeasement is disgusting enough, cheerleading for murderous despots is absolutely sickening.

While I agree Russia was wrong on Crimea, we were wrong on Ukraine before that as I explained in a previous detailed post on this thread. Unfortunately though we like to criticize Russian actions in Ukraine while ignoring other factors.

No we are not "wrong" on Ukraine.

If Putin is determined to recreate the Soviet Psycho State, it is our duty to push the new Iron Curtain as far east as possible.

Trying to push that curtain as far easy as possible among other things is what had provoked Putin in the first place.

Bunch of blind patriotic mumbo jumbo.

There wasn't an issue in the first place that couldn't have been taken care of through proper democratic process within Ukraine, and then the West started to support and assist in violent protests, riots and eventual overthrow of the democratically elected leaders of Ukraine. Up until then, there wasn't anything Russia or Putin could have acted on, regardless of his justifications for those actions.

If the people in Ukraine didn't like their leader, they could have waited for the next election to peacefully toss him out..... That's what we do.

For someone who hates Soviets, Commies and the Russian's Iron Curtain of evil oppression, you sure as hell don't have any faith or support for Western Democratic Values when you don't think supporting the above violent overthrow wasn't "Wrong."

"Our Duty".... Jesus, do you read your own posts before submitting them?

By the way

Compared to Putin? I'd take the worst PM in our history over Putin.
Ah . . ., you already did, he got fired in the last election. He is now a dog-catcher in the Ukraine. Need I say more.

Does the movie have a name. I like shows based on reality so please let help me so I can watch the whole thing.
Hows Winnerpeg treating you? (please, please let him affirm he is going east)
