Bill Gates and Big Oil back this company that's trying to solve climate change by sucking CO2 out of the air

In Squamish, British Columbia, there's a company that wants to stop climate change by sucking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

It's called Carbon Engineering, and it uses a combination of giant fans and complex chemical processes to remove carbon dioxide from the air in a procedure known as Direct Air Capture.

Direct Air Capture isn't new, but Carbon Engineering says its technology has advanced enough for it to finally make financial sense.

The company is backed by Bill Gates — but also by the oil giants Chevron, BHP, and Occidental. These partnerships will bring Carbon Engineering's tech to market by using the captured carbon to make synthetic fuels and and help extract more oil from the ground.

Will Carbon Engineering's technology decrease the amount of CO2 in the air, or is it going to prolong our dependence on fossil fuels? Watch the video to learn more.

Fastest-Thinning Greenland Glacier Threw NASA Scientists for a Loop. It's Actually Growing.

Greenland's fastest-flowing and fastest-thinning glacier recently threw a real brain bender at scientists, who realized that instead of shrinking, the glacier is actually growing thicker, they reported in a new study.

The glacier — known as Jakobshavn, which sits on Greenland's west coast — is still contributing to sea level rise, but it's losing less ice than expected. Instead of thinning and retreating inland, its ice is thickening and advancing toward the ocean, the researchers found.

LOL, so when a glacier grows, it sheds fresh water ice into the ocean and seas rise, AND if a glacier shrinks, the water goes in the ocean and seas rise...
:)
But the ocean isn't rising.

Ocean temperatures today are about the same as they were more than 100,000 years ago — at a time when sea levels were 20 to 30 feet higher.

The findings, published in the journal Science, highlight the key role that human activity has played in global warming and underscore concerns about the future impact of rising sea levels.

Over millions and billions of years, the Earth has gone through periods of cooling (when water freezes out of the oceans, causing glaciers to grow and sea levels to fall) and warming (when the ice melts and sea levels rise).

You can't make this stuff up.

Tribal Prophecy of a Warming Climate Becoming Dire Reality in Alaska
Scientists are wrong it was a known prophecy
I wonder if they remember the glaciers that were just there a couple thousand years ago?

Even then there was a warm weather corridor down the west coast - it was how they figure many people immigrated to the rest of the Americas.

Map of North America during the Ice Age from 13,000 to 12,000 years ago

DEGLACIATION OF NORTH AMERICA 13,000 TO 12,000 YEARS AGO

By at least 13,000 to 12,000 years BP, the climate was starting to warm up, causing the Cordilleran and Laurentide ice sheets to retreat and an ice-free region to emerge along the eastern flanks of the Rocky Mountains.

It went out the same way it came in.

Was there any mention anywhere as to who (of the eight) rounded up all the critters and managed to drive many of them over from Africa? And then there's all the American species which brings up a few other questions! Nope that ark is bull shit, I tells you!
Wow!

One can see the next big protest movement with this announcement :) Taking too much Carbon out of the Atmosphere, Or the Chemicals are not breaking down as promised and affecting the mosquito population or something or other blah, bla, blah

Did you know that 170 yrs ago, CO2 levels on Earth were only 30ppm above the point plants would suffocate.

We saved the planet.

I've always contended that Mother Nature has a way of levelling things off and we're starting to see signs of that now in this area.

A mythical being knows what to do?

If mother nature is so smart, why the carbon deficit to nearly the point of collapse for all flora?

You just have to learn to live day by day. If it's good day enjoy it, if it's a bad day adapt to it. What other choices are there?

How many are aware of this statement about climate change from the IPCC in 2007?

It's the only consensus they have ever established.

“we should recognise that we are dealing with a coupled nonlinear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.”

Bummer.

Sit back and relax, keep the environment neat and tidy and reduce waste and it will all work out in the long run.
