Snow is an insulator...LOL!
:)
They left three feet of the stuff piled in the middle of my street here from the none we had the other day. So the road is nice and warm.

In the last few years before I retired, I would have been just getting ready for the ice to go out, and to be back to work up the shore, boating by the start of the last week of April. Looks like they will be late getting started this year.

For us here in YYC, the safe expectation is that it can (or will) snow just past the May long weekend, in fact, the smart move is to plan that it happens (bad news for the campers).

That said, we've had a good amount of snow this year and the chinooks that have blown through just weren't strong enough to clear out the snow each time.

Where we are at today is that there's a heavyish snow pack in the foothills and mountains and in the event that there is a quick melt, i expect that there will be flooding once again.

Wait and see I guess

Three years before I was still shoveling snow in May....

Ladies and gentlemen......It's called Canadian weather, always changing and always unexpected.....so.....get used to it.!
You can piss and moan all you like, but you can't change it!

Yes, well that IS global warming...global cooling would be the being under the two miles of ice for several thousand years before we warmed up to this record.
