You knew the definition of winter was decreased sunlight hours didn't you? Or you never thought that might be why it gets cold in winter and more sunlight hours in summer makes it warmer? Have the hours of sunlight changed?
Right. Our planet wobbles on its axis. That means that sunlightat a particular time and in a particular spot will vary.Couldn't tell you ... but the axis has.... There is better than an 80 degree difference between solstitial sunsets.

That's easy to explain it's called displacement. For it to snow in San diego it had to be warmer than usual somewhere to drive the cold that far south.Come on kids, at least try to be reasonably nice to each other.
Weird weather happens. I remember a couple decades ago it snowed in San Diego. Did that mean the planet was in an ice-age? No. It meant that San Diego had snow at that particular time.
lol Musta been funnier than watching Vancouver drivers in winter.

Guess you missed my point. I wasn't pointing out what a particular phenomenon is called. I was pointing out that local weather at some particular time does not equal global climate. That's easy to explain it's called displacement. No. There hasn't be any change to Chandlers Wobble.Watch where the sun sets in relation to the horizon on December 21, then where it sets on June 21 and note the difference. I have noticed sunlight in a window the sun never reached when I was a kid....

One part of the globe was unusually warm to make the part of the globe San Diego sits on colder than usual. All climate and weather is global.Guess you missed my point.
