In this big bail out package that Obama has presented there are millions ear marked for new Global Warming models. I guess the old ones weren't giving them the results they were looking for.

Face it... the Global Warming craze is ending. Time for a new one.

SAN FRANCISCO - So-called “global warming” has shrunk from problem to punch line. And now, leftists are laughing, too. It’s hard not to chuckle at the idea of Earth boiling in a carbon cauldron when the news won’t cooperate:
Nearly four inches of snow blanketed the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Jais region for just the second time in recorded history on Jan. 24. Citizens were speechless. The local dialect has no word for snowfall.

Dutchmen on ice skates sped past windmills as canals in Holland froze in mid-January for the first time since 1997. Defense Minister Eimert van Middelkoop, who inhabits a renovated 17th-century windmill, stumbled on the ice and fractured his wrist.

January saw northern Minnesota’s temperatures plunge to 38 below zero, forcing ski-resort closures. A Frazee, Minn., dog-sled race was cancelled, due to excessive snow. Snow whitened beaches in Surf City, N.C. Days ago, ice glazed Florida’s citrus groves.

As Earth faces global cooling, both troglodyte right-wingers and lachrymose left-wingers find Albert Gore’s simmering-planet hypothesis increasingly hilarious:
“In terms of (global warming’s) capacity to cause the human species harm, I don’t think it makes it into the top 10,” Dr. Robert Giegengack, former chairman of University of Pennsylvania’s Earth and Environmental Sciences Department, told the Pennsylvania Gazette. Giegengack voted for Gore in 2000, and says he likely would again.
Commentator Harold Ambler declared Jan. 3 on HuffingtonPost.com that he voted for Barack Obama “for a thousand times a thousand reasons.” He added that Gore “owes the world an apology for his actions regarding global warming.” He called Gore’s assertion that “the science is in” on this issue “the biggest whopper ever sold to the public in the history of mankind.”

“It is a tribute to the scientific ignorance of politicians and journalists that they keep regurgitating the nonsense about human-caused global warming,” veteran left-wing commentator and Nation magazine columnist Alexander Cockburn wrote.

“The greenhouse fearmongers rely on unverified, crudely oversimplified models to finger mankind’s sinful contribution - and carbon trafficking, just like the old indulgences, is powered by guilt, credulity, cynicism and greed.”
Some leftists believe the collective hallucination of warmism distracts from what they consider urgent progressive priorities:
“The most destructive force on the planet is power-driven financiers and profit-driven corporations and their cartels backed by military might,” University of

Ottawa physics professor Dr. Denis Rancourt has written. “The global warming myth is a red herring that contributes to hiding this truth.”
“The so-called ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is not holding up,” Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) told his colleagues Jan. 8. “It is becoming increasingly clear that skepticism about man-made global warming fear is not a partisan left vs. right issue.”

So-called “global warming” has accomplished the impossible: It has united liberals and conservatives in laughter.

From the Washington Times

Instead, as a sampling: There's $75 million to help people stop smoking, $2.25 billion for national parks (whose chief lobbyist, as we have reported, is the son of House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis.), $20 billion for quicker depreciation and write-offs for equipment, $15 billion for college scholarships, $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts, $335 million to treat and prevent sexually transmitted diseases, $600 million to buy a new fleet of cars for federal employees and government agencies, $650 million for coupons to help consumers convert TV sets from analog to digital, $400 million to research global warming, $2 billion to help subsidize child care, $1 billion for Amtrak, $4.19 billion for a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (much of which might go to ACORN, the discredited activist organization that the FBI is investigating for vote fraud), and on and on.

LMAO... You are just as stupid as always Avro. Big mouth and little to back it up.

Well, scientists have been getting results for decades now, warning about the consequences. Walter's favourite web hacks sling their bull crap around, and just as the tobacco companies did, they sow doubt. So how do you remedy that except to get more results Smack? Note that the scientists are not asking for more money to be spent on research, they're asking for money to be spent fixing the problem. Engineers, construction workers and the like will benefit, not atmospheric physicists should government's listen to their paid experts...

It's a conspiracy theory. A weak one at that. I mean if you believe that tripe, what's stopping you from joining the 9/11 truthers?

Oh I know that you are aching for my attention... you have been for some time. I could not resist your perpetual stupidity and figured I would entertain the masses at your expense to show everyone truly how stupid you are.

Everyone knows you are a baiting troll but there are new people here so I just wanted them to see how you are. You've never been well liked here on CanCon as you know.

But what poor reasoning after you got thouroughly OWNED once again by me.

So are you excited that I responded to you? Wetting on the floor like a little dog? Now go crawl away little troll and lick your wounds.

As you can see what I cut from the Washington Times they are getting $400 Million for Global Warming Research. It's right there in Black and White. There is nothing to fix.

Yes, I know that... It fits entirely with what I wrote. Instead of spending $400 million on building more efficient power grids, or combined heat and power units for municipalities, or research on more efficient batteries for electric vehicles, or even mitigation proposals like salt aerosols or any of a myriad proposals which would help, they're spending more money on getting results that will no doubt be $hit on again...

The amount of scientists voicing their opinion here is (to say the least) underwhelming

Could you explain this? Are you saying because we aren't scientist we cannot support or oppose Global Warming?

Editing a post ex-facto like that is poor form Scotty, even for you.

I wrote one answer, saw you had responded already and edited my response in accordance.

The only grievances you have are that I type too slowly or that you are too zealous in your own responses. This isn't a chat room.

I concede anything that is logical that I might have missed. You have yet to state anything fundamentally flawed, or missing from the linked analysis of an eight year study, with many thousands of repeated measurements.

This is where you're wrong. You base your conclusion on an inference that GW is caused by CO2 when, in point of fact, it cannot be demonstrated to be the case.

So you have research that says: yes GW is real. And you have research that says: yes CO2 has increased. You even have research that says yes CO2 can cause some warming. But you have nothing that says it caused this warming and, further, you have nothing that says it even could (in the amounts as they are now)! All the research you post confirms either side of your case but doesn't confirm a connection.

You could say many people with tooth pain go to a dentist. Actually almost all do. So the dentist must be causing the tooth pain! You can see the fallacy here but this is your very same argument reworded!

You need a warrant for your correlation and so far as I know, all the "research" to date, "your eight years worth," has demonstrated that there is non! If a correlation can not be demonstrated then it cannot be said to exist. It can be suspected but what you and your hippie friends are purposing is an entire restructuring of human global civilization and for that I demand the highest level of proof, not rhetoric, hyperbole and conviction, which to date, is all you have provided.

The GW Nazis are asking nothing more than I should change my entire way of life and they say this on a hunch! How obnoxious!

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof not undemonstrated correlations!!!

I'm through wasting my time with you. Have a nice day.

lol, yeah, I'll bet.

Do not think I am an enemy of our ecosystem. If there is a problem I am willing to work on a solution but the problem must be demonstrated!!!

I am concerned about the H2S problem but as I said, that doomsday scenario is a slippery slope and I am not too convinced we are the cause or that we could stop it.

Yes they are. However they are not changing their way of life in the slightest.

I wonder if Al Gore is going to print out more Carbon Credits for the Hollywood Elite and give them as gifts at the Academy Awards as he did last year. With that silly piece of paper each and everyone could go about their lives as usual and preach to the unwashed masses about the dangers of GW and how we (the little people) should do more.

Absolutely! In the case of Gore GW is definitely a political podium and cash cow. The idea is obviously that we should all walk to our factories and live in paper shacks, but not him of coarse, he is too important.

I am getting so sick of this elitist filth. I long for a rain to wash it away.

And for Al Gore it is a HUGE CASH COW. A little known fact is that Al Gore is deep into Carbon Credit sales...taking advantage of those who believe they are doing good. Al Gore says that all the energy he uses... and he uses A LOT... is offset by Carbon Credits. What he doesn't tell you is his offsets are actually stock in a company that sells Carbon Credits called Generation Investments Management (GIM). His "Carbon Credits" are for profit investments and he is raking in a bundle thus far. Perhaps that is why he is calling on Congress to do something (as in force companies to make purchases of carbon credits to offset their carbon footprints from companies like GIM) this year. He knows GW is becoming unraveled
