Get busted with a joint in the US and you can be shipped to Gitmo 8O under the Patriot act and a military tribunal can sentence you to death

Better safe than sorry?

Funny, it doesn't seem that way when it's good white Christian folk who are being rounded up and imprisoned with no rights.

But then again there's a reason this is in CUBA, isn't there?

Well it wasn't "good" white Christian folk that destroyed downtown manhattan and killed people of all nationalities. And I don't think they were Swedish either. It's wrong to assume if your muslim your a terrorist, I'm not debating that. Its wrong! So now what? More tea and crumpets?

You heard it from the horses mouth, compliments of Al-Jazeera tapes. Self-incriminating evidence works wonders.

As far as I can tell, the dispute as to the veracity of this video and the one found in Pakistan in 2001 have not been resolved...

OBL spills his guts

Yes...I've read the transcript...still doesn't make it authentic though...

Kind of funny how the tape was released just 4 days before you went to the polls...

In a TV interview on Larry King Live, veteran (retired) CBS anchorman, Walter Cronkite, intimated that Bush political strategist Karl Rove was behind the tape:

CRONKITE: What we just heard. So now the question is basically right now, how will this affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I'm a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing.... (CNN, Larry King Live, 29 Oct 2004)

Of course none of this is analyzed by the US media.

Well that one has been the subject of even more scrutiny...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/1710483.stm

This:

"America's key allies have said that a videotape of Osama Bin Laden released by the United States vindicates the military campaign in Afghanistan, but many Arabs are not convinced."

This:

"Pentagon officials asked four non-government Arabic speakers to listen to the remarks and agree on a uniform translation."

Carries more weight than this:

"But the BBC's Middle East correspondent, Frank Gardner, says that at street level in the Arab world, many believe the tape is a fake, a PR gimmick dreamed up by the US administration."

and this:

"Our correspondent adds that the tape is unlikely to win support from many ordinary Arabs because it has been released as Israeli-Palestinian violence increases. Many in the Arab world are angry at the US as a backer of Israel."

Why would an American Arab (who would be fearful of deportation) be given more credit then an ME Arab?

Good point, I'm glad you asked, so lets stroll further into the future with another tape from Bin Laden:

And looking ahead of that transcript, I wonder how those Arabs felt when their favorite TV Channel aired this tid bit:

"I say to you, Allah knows that it had never occurred to us to strike the towers. But after it became unbearable and we witnessed the oppression and tyranny of the American/Israeli coalition against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it came to my mind. "
