If your reading comprehension and/or memory were up to the challenge you would realize that I am not in disagreement with that position. Have you noticed that alone in the civilized west America refuses to celebrate Labour Day?

We celebrate Labor Day every year and looking at my calender we celebrate it the same day Canada does.

You FAIL

That is why it is so unfortunate that yanks wear Canadian flags abroad. Under the maple leaf they are still yanks.

That is just another myth that Canadians made up to make them feel better about themselves. The only ones that plaster Canadian flags all over their luggage and packs are Canadian. And not to say who they are but who they aren't.

I still wanna know if I can get a million bucks for dropping an American ambassador. Or is it limited to Al Qaeda members with fully paid-up dues? If so, that's racist. And religious discrimination.

Where did I call Canadians "dog****?"

To quote Det. Stan Kowalski, "I got no problem with Canadians."

Wanna bet?

We celebrate Labor Day every year and looking at my calender we celebrate it the same day Canada does.

You hate us because of our religion and we are handsomer.

No, we hate you because of your Tim Hortons and your women won't sleep with us.

Well perhaps the implied ownership issue in your cable has something to do with it. You see we don't actually own women up here, they are wild and belong to nobody. If you can wrap around that and some platform shoes you may score. Tim Hortons is a rumour of coffee and nothing more.

I would prefer a world free from war and violence but if the US is going about with it's imperialistic designs on the middle east killing military and civilians alike then I don't have a problem with those nations fighting back.

BTW: the US doesn't follow the Geneva Conventions, it just bitches when it's enemies don't follow them either.

Do you feel the same way about Canada and Canadians as you do about America and Americans or are you blind to Canada's placid approval of US foreign policy since WWII

Chrétien restates opposition to Iraq war

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien has revealed more reasons behind Canada's decision not to join the U.S. in a war against Iraq.

Chrétien told the House of Commons that the goal of disarming Saddam Hussein could have been achieved if Iraq was given a few more weeks to comply with UN weapons inspections. And the prime minister repeated that he's against the idea of forcing a regime change.

Question period was all about the near certain war against Iraq and Canada's decision to stay out.

CBC News - Indepth: Canada-U.S. Relations

And over the years:

1962 – Prime Minister John Diefenbaker on President John F. Kennedy: "He's a hothead. He's a fool – too young, too brash, too inexperienced, and a boastful son of a bitch!"

1965 – at the height of the Vietnam War, Prime Minister Lester Pearson visited President Lyndon Johnson at the White House. Pearson gave a scathing speech one night about the war, then appeared at the White House the next day to confront a livid Johnson. As Martin describes it, LBJ grabbed Pearson by the shirt collar, lifted the prime minister off the floor and shouted, "You pissed on my rug!"

The fact that we agree is of no importance. I just don't like your attitude. I think it's the intellectual pomposity that is so off putting. When you refer to Labour Day I assume you are referring to May 1st. That date is Law Day in the US. We celebrate Labor Day in early September each year.

I can't help it if arguing with fact instead of emotion is 'off putting intellectual pomposity' to you. Or is it that I enjoy using correct English when writing - its just part of the pastime to me? Would you rather I go on a name calling rant? Or is it the subject matter - criticizing the US and its military? It has developed into a hobby in recent years since I have been run off a number of American boards for expressing completely innocuous opinions that Tea Partiers disagreed with. I am a hunter, a shooter, a veteran of Canadian Forces Regular Force and a student of the US Civil War and military history in general. Unfortunately I have found that in general terms many people with my interests are right wing extremists, so I regularly get treated quite poorly by people from whom I sought a community of interest. That kind of leaves me with two choices - run or fight back. For the most part I have declined to be chased off. In the process I have looked more carefully than I ever did before at the US. I have gone from being pro-American to being anti-American. Rather than just display unnamed hostility I point to facts, or at least to media reports. Instead of getting personal (you say above, "I just don't like your attitude," as if I give a flying phuq what a US Marine thinks of my opinions) try debating facts.

We celebrate Labor Day every year and looking at my calender we celebrate it the same day Canada does.

Is it a paid stat holiday or just an unpaid day off?

"Fail" for not knowing an obscure fact about America? The level of public education in the US, especially in "red" states, is Third World compared to the rest of the western world. BTW, you are on a Canadian site and the word is spelled "l-a-b-o-u-r" here.

Your analysis is superficial and gross without nuance. You don't recognize the presence of duality in all things. You seem like an undergraduate. That's why I am so condescending to you.

Or is it that I enjoy using correct English when writing

Your writing style is lifeless. That is a strike against you.

- its just part of the pastime to me?

I don't care.

Would you rather I go on a name calling rant?

I don't care.

No. It's your persona that is so repugnant. You are like the cat that is unaware it can't see the full range of color.

Have you ever had your *** kicked by an old man who agrees with you, but finds your existence to be offensive?

No, we hate you because of your Tim Hortons and your women won't sleep with us.

Both genders view Americans the same way - kinda like the rest of the world. Ya see, Dubya strutted like big stuff, breaking agreements, taking money and daring smaller governments to get it back, invading Third World nations and killing their women and children, then bragging on national media that anybody who didn't like it could lump it because the US was big enough to do whatever it wanted. And the US is big enough to do just that. Every so often America stops loudly bragging about how great it is to see what everybody else is saying and guess what? Nobody cares about y'all. Not at all. Y'all're just too busy hating to notice. The good part is that you hate each other more than anybody else can be bothered hating you. Well, almost.

Nawww, and I don't see y'all as being one to do it. I see y'all as harmless. Your immediate resort to ultra-harsh personal attack takes out any sting. Tell us, did y'all vote for Obama?

True, but then the two-faced goofball assigned military support personnel and vehicles to aid the USA.

lol I come back from visiting the kids and see that not much in CC has changed; folks still like poking each other. :D
