Those dolls are kinda creepy, but then again, all dolls are kinda creepy. They're like tawny naked island children from some adultless Neverland on a deserted Pacific island. They're so happy and innocent and have none of our society's conditionings or labels. Ugh, makes me sick.

This is an unfortunate repercussion of generations of social conservatism, and while the backlash looks ludicrous, we should realize that this is what we get for operating like brainless robots of gender stereotyping for so long.

It was up to parents to teach their children that pivotal fact, not schools or government. But now that we have failed on a grassroots-level, it will become a tag line from the institutions that we depend on.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, YJ, but this madness was spawned by the social conservatism of the religious right.

Just like blaming the car owner who forgot to lock the car that was stolen. Or the homeowner whose home was broken into by some innocent gang members. Or blaming the victim of rape for the act of rape.

Where does Naturally correct and Naturally incorrect fit in to the life of a girl born in a boy's body or vice versa? How do you prepare a child and his/her peers to accept that there are some kids who aren't male and aren't female no matter how they loook or what's in their pants?

Gee I don't know.... I seemed to have turned out just fine with accepting the above without having to deal with this type of crap..... and the idiots running these schools seemed to have turned out just fine too without going through schools like these...... actually scratch that.

I watched a transgender grow-up. I know what he went through emotionally and how he was treated physically due to learned responses of homophobia of his peers.

For every pair of ass cheeks, there's bound to be at least one asshole in the bunch...... these schools will not remove this fact.

I and a number of the people I grew up with treated those different from us just fine, without making fun of them based on their sexuality or lack there of. The tolerance with the newer generation is progressing by leaps and bounds, just as it has in my generation and the generation before. Decades ago it was intolerance towards women & minority races, it has improved.... just as it will continue to improve..... in the 80's, 90's and this past decade, tolerance towards homosexuality & transgender has greatly improved as well.... just as it will continue to do so.

These things take time to flush out the old ways of thinking passed down from previous generations...... and these type of schools and parents raising their kids excluding any identification of their actual gender isn't going to speed things up, let alone solve all the problems.

I have had many friends of different genders, races, religious beliefs, sexual preferences & identities..... my family consists of different races, religious beliefs & a few cousins who are gay..... not one single person in my family holds any of it against them.... they're family and their happiness is what's truly important. What you need to do is give a child exposure to those different from themselves to understand that those differences are what makes each of us unique...... not by ignoring and avoiding those differences.

Why should they have to wait 20 years to be who they are?

If you are happier with homophobiia and transgenders hiding in the closet afraid, ashamed and confused then go sew a wang and some boobs on those dolls.

Speaking as someone who identifies him as mostly Liberal, I agree with his assessment...... conservatisim or liberalism taken too far ends up taking everybody into the fringe of the ridiculous.

How many chefs are women? How many tailors? How many females are cops? How many are mechanics or run heavy equipment?

A hell of a lot more then there were 50 years ago..... and a lot more then there were even 15 years ago.

How do they deal with bathrooms? I would have to assume they only have one big one.

I'm assuming they do share the same bathroom and not only teach the boys how to sit when they pee, but teach the girls how to pee when they stand.
