Selfish benefits? What is more selfish than capitalism ?
We're a nation full of materialistic half-wits that can never have enough
CUBert, if you, yourself, have NOT benefitted from capitalism, it must be for two reasons: You are either too lazy or too stupid.
If, however, you DID benefit, then you are nothing but a self-described "half-wit that can never have enough."
So, let's see: Most people in your socialist paradise known as Cuba don't own the following: Car. House. Refrigerator. Air-conditioner (Heaven knows, you need one in Cuba). More than two pairs of underwear/socks/shoes. A suit. Television. Computer. Etc., etc.
I am sure you have all those (Well, maybe no house). Plus, you have the freedom to spew all the hatred your little heart desires about the system that CREATES rather than EQUATES.
I guess you never heard that socialism is the best system in the world until it runs out of someone else's money.
I'm pretty sure CUBert supports democratic socialism - which is not the Soviet Russia you're painting it to be, lol

Well, neither is the capitalism, whose benefits we all - including you, me and even CUBert enjoy - is the cold, heartless and mean system that he is painting it to be.
Surely I have benefited but I don't think of only myself. I recognize the world isn't benefiting and in fact in suffering in many instances because of our capitalism , and that's a problem.

the whole point is recognizing the hypocrisy of crying about communist regimes brutality like our capitalist system somehow rose out of benevolence.

However, tell me and everyone else on this forum, what have you ever done to display the acts that match your words? List all the organizations you volunteered for and the time devoted. Within hundred dollar accuracy tell us what you donate annually to charities. Then, add the names of all the socialist countries that go and help others countries that has been struck by natural disasters. List their monetary and humanistic assistance with fair comparison to the same provided by those heartless, cold and cruel capitalistic countries.
And finally, tell us why you would rather live in socialist Cuba, rather than capitalist Canada.
i haven't done anything and i don't intend to do anything..... this world is beyond helping. i was just pointing out the hypocrisy of vehemently opposing communist regimes for their brutality when capitalism has caused probably much more suffering.

His world view, the political pilosophy he subscribed to has proven to be absolutely devoid of any positive aspects. The man he admired as top of the heap, the purest of the pure (Mao Tse Tung) turned out to be the worst mass murderer in human history, causing the death of over 50 million people.
In the 20th century, communism killed 100 million people....many times more than any other philosophy in human history, and it did it in what amounts to a lifetime....80 years.
He was wrong.

Now, for a fitting epilogue, please match the number of people killed by capitalism to the 20 million killed by communist Stalin, 60 million killed by communist Mao, other millions killed by communists Pol Pot, Castro, Chavez and others of the communist persuation.
