good on Trump for getting firm with some of these companies. they know what's good for them.

and he's not even in office yet.

Sure, I agree....but this is small potatoes.

He should start by getting rid of NAFTA and I will commend him for ending TPP.

Re: Ford CEO: Main reason for canceling Mexico plant was market demand, not Trump

You're new here so I'll assume that you are not up to speed on the inner workings between individuals on this site.

Oh, okay.

So Regulations have a use...?

I agree with your flat tax proposal to an extent.

That's CC code for "I said something stupid and got called on it and now I'm a wee bit embarassed."

It's the over regulation that becomes a drag on the economy.... Having overlapping regs on Provincial and Federal levels confuses the issue(s) and hampers any development.

In terms of the flat tax proposal, it would be a fantasy (albeit wonderful) if that applied straight across the board with personal and corporate taxes however, the corporate tax side of things, this should be the standard in Canada.

Anyone with the tiniest bit of sense knows that regulations have a use.

Are you kidding?

You should be able to decide what is wrong and right for yourself no matter what.

The weak of body and mind perish....blah blah...being factitious of course.

Flat tax meaning no one gets tax right offs for having kids or writing off that dinner you took your client to.

I'm all for that.

No charitable donations. No deductions for using your own car for work. No deductions for tuition, or childcare. No writeoff for having a home office.

I kinda like this idea. I can see how it would really help businesses.

What would happen to the NHL teams if corporate ticket purchases weren't deductible? LOL, no more Leafs!

I agree.....no deductions at all....for anything.

Plus a quasi flat tax based on income and a consumption tax.

A flat tax for everyone, equal right across the board and eliminate the deductions outright.

this will also quell the fair share crowd that perpetually lobbies for punishing select groups that made the egregious mistake of succeeding

Trump will thump his mighty chest and claim to be the reason the sky is blue too. The man's a simple-minded braggart addicted to attention

and in 16 days he is also POTUS!

But it was a factor. Also the backlash from consumers that have had enough of job losses. Probably also has a lot to do with the overall low quality of their product.
Correct me if I am wrong but robots build better products than a line of 50 people can??
Why would we move 'back in time'? Get the 50 people to build the robots and the production line can be a long list of products from cars to dinner plates that never break at the flip of 10 switches. Those 50 people and their 500 relatives, over 10 generations, get to sit around and enjoy the 'comforts of life' without the 'endless toil' to get just a bit of that. The jobs that 'people' would have would be related to 'what people do with 'leisure time'. Starting at home it would be safe affordable living where the living room goes back to being the 'entertainment center' where people create their own entertainment. Via a web database that has many attractive features. Google street view from China where you get sound to go with the 'pictures'. With the living room being the control center it might be that a personal cam can be on the wall when you are outside of the house, or on your bike in case somebody tries to steal it. etc. NSA movie quality but from your own living-room would give it appeal for the whole neighborhood and that commonality is a useful tool as far as social interaction goes.
One of the 'attractions' for wars is they offer that commonality to most of the population. The ones on the 'back lines' only see that aspect of working for the common good and then go an sleep in your own bed until tomorrow and then the same thing where everybody else is part of the same 'operation'. War loses all it's appeal the closer you get to the front lines.
The Circus coming to a village would set the 'mood' as far as the general atmosphere so the commonality can be any cause.

Still won't be fair as long as there is support for giving taxpayer dollars to some companies
