The jealousy theory. I get a kick out of it every time I hear it but it's wrong.
I have been to the USA many times and don't envy it even slightly. My family is from the USA and most are still there. I have a street named after my family for its role in the Boston tea party.
I am not jealous.
What I don't like is the American bloodlust. Your country is controlled by your insatiable appetite for war. There is no other country on earth as war mongering as the USA. Then there are your wars by proxy and covert wars of overthrow and instability.
Then there are the people the majority whom don't realize the misery they cause because they think there country is the greatest and the best. What they don't understand is that means $h!t when it is so only because it insists on dragging everybody down with it. But the belief blinds them to the evil of their country. It is a democracy where the people are bought with buckets of blood and evil war machines.
My family came to Canada because they were tired of the USA and its antiquated notions of state. I am not jealous of anything you've got - I'm tired and sick of it.
It really is DD. Where have you been? They are slightly less popular than bubonic plague. I don't know where you been man, get outside for awhile and have a look arround before you're the lone sympathizer in the neighbourhood.:smile:

No way...he rode the rides...and experienced the joy that is Disney World. I bet he even has the Mickey ears. I bet he even smiled. Canada has been WELL represented everytime I have gone to Disney World. We always met familes at whichever Disney hotel we stayed at. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and my two boys met up with this Canadian boy of their age and they all hung out for a few days with other American boys. We called their parents over and everyone got along great. No bashing each other, no fights.
So you say. But you dwell on us far too much and get ripped when we don't dwell on you. You send down film crews to roam the streets to ask if Americans know about Canada etc. It is an unhealthy obsession.
I suppose I could go to Yankee Stadium and look at all their banners and say the same thing.
Not quite sold on that.
Nope, we just stand up and have the ability to do so.
We are a proud people and proud to be American. Some Canadians hate that. Oh well. It is how we are and that isn't going to change anytime soon.
Really...I'd love to hear that story. My Mom's family came from Newfoundland and were so proud to become American.

While I agree that Bush should apologise, an apology is not nearly enough for his crimes. Having said that, I don't believe there is any way to force an apology from outside the country. Any forcing would have to come from Americans themselves but that is unlikely because GWB was elected not once, but twice, so I must assume that Americans liked what he was doing.

And I still maintain regardless of their military might we are the only ones that could take them down and then force him to the UN and make said apology.
Think about it. Really. USA attacks Canada! So much for their continuing existence.

Who is attacking who? Why would we attack Canada because you want him to make an apology? If you accidently flipped the "USA attacks Canada" and meant to say "Canada attacks the USA" why would the thought even be entertained for a mere apology?
How are Canadians the only ones that could make Bush apologize?

I think your just scared. The USA is a nation ceased with paranoia, ergo all the war machines and need to control everything.
It's sad. I honestly pity you and your country. That's not an ad hominem either. My great aunt came up this summer from California and her fear was palatable. I visit other forums with Americans and again the fear is so heavy. I think Michal Moore was correct in saying your elite keep you in constant fear. He meant in terms of health care but it extends much beyond that too.
Anyway, keep your gun loaded, your door locked and may you keep your health and your job too.
