'They' will have to be careful that this doesn't have some major blow-back down the road as far as influence peddling by foreign nations. How many would be swept up in one go id the term Russia was dropped and Israel inserted. One good way to sh ow if it is a real prosecution is the path things take. In the past a bribed politician could keep the money. That ended when the Arab Spring made it's way to Egypt as his bank accounts were seized when he was overthrown and he ended up in jail rather than in Paris living the good life such as Arafat's widow after she poisoned him.

The laws on the books are aimed it the lowest level of drug dealers around and today all their assets can be taken so the family isn't left sitting on a pile of money as it goes to the Government which is an arm of the same place it originally came from. The roundup in the KSA netted $800B so you can bet it is a lot more than that. When the US is after a country the first thing it does it hit them financially where their accounts are frozen.

I'm pretty sure if the rich tries to bail from the swamp with their ill gotten wealth will find that when they are stabbed in the back they don't get to keep the money. That is one of the promises that are given to the clowns they own that are under the impression they have a future rather than a fate awaiting them.

All this will show is that nobody from the swamp ever goes to jail. The worst fate is their kids are finished as far as being a wheeler/dealer in the big leagues. A fate that doesn't show any payoff for 50 years is not a win. The rich still believe the bankers are their friends yet if the events in the KSA were replicated for North America and the top 3% targeted the take would be a lot more and Wall St assets could also be taken. On 9/11 Wall St was shut down before the first plane landed, that is how fast military law can come into effect. (right down to debit cards being useless)

You're assuming he actually cares about rationalizing a situation.

Nigel Farage says while Russia is accused of funding Britain’s ‘Leave’ campaign, financier George Soros’ recent $18 billion donation to pro-EU charity Open Society has escaped scrutiny. “This is where the real international political collusion is,” Farage says.

WASHINGTON — Republican Georgia Sen. David Perdue took to the floor Thursday to point out that 30 Democratic senators met with the Russian ambassador in 2015 to pitch President Obama’s nuclear Iran deal, all while openly supporting Democratic presidential candidates.

In an effort to defend former senator and current Attorney General Jeff Sessions from accusations that he lied to Congress about his communications to a Russian ambassador during the presidential campaign, Perdue went after his colleagues for “slandering” a former member of the upper chamber.

He noted, “We have literally reached a point where members of this body are slandering former colleagues for having and taking the same opportunities afforded to them.”

Perdue went on to say, “This morning my colleague, the senior senator from Missouri [Claire McCaskill], tweeted that she had never, ever, met with or taken a call from the Russian Ambassador. But her own Twitter account proved that she has at least twice in the last four years.”

Sessions served on the Senate Armed Services Committee with Perdue and Democratic Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, who found herself making conflicting statement about her contacts with the Russian ambassador.

“Thirty members, as a matter of fact, of this body met with the Russian Ambassador and ambassadors from other nations in 2015 for a sales pitch on President Obama’s deal with Iran. Many of them — including the senior senator from Missouri — were open supporters at that time of candidates in the presidential race,” he said.

The Huffington Post reported in early August 2015, Senate Democratic staff invited three undecided Democrats on the Iran nuclear deal Democrats along with other members of their caucus to meet with the ambassadors of Russia, England, France, China and Germany in the capitol.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, according to HuffPo, organized the Iran nuclear deal briefings for his Democratic colleagues that included meeting the ambassadors.

The presentations were strong enough to convince the three undecideds to come around and overcome a Republican filibuster of the Iran deal.

That's legal.

But you can't hide the meeting and claim you had no contact. And you especially can't get paid by them and pay no taxes on it.
