A fish named Wanda, maybe but that's still a matter of taste and availability.
Wanda would be cold and slippery, not at all what mammals like to cuddle.:laughing7:

not helping dark. Mastadons weren't our fault, i'm pretty sure.
Herman, more blarney from you. Do you just make things up as you go along?:
2. What about those cute whitecoat seals?
Whitecoats are newborn harp seals. Most Canadians can recall pictures of whitecoated seal pups being clubbed. The images were so inflammatory that Canada banned all hunting of whitecoats in 1987. You'd never know that from some of the anti-sealing groups that still prominently display pictures of whitecoats on their websites and in fundraising materials. One site even features a downloadable video of people hugging whitecoats. But the reality is that whitecoats can't be hunted anymore. But it's also true that young harp seals lose their white coats (and their protection) at about 12 to 14 days of age. After that, they're fair game for hunters, although they're usually about 25 days old before they're hunted. Most harp seals taken are under the age of three months. ..
Under three months old... and hunted once they're 12 days old or a day or two older. That's repugnant.
OK fair enough. they're not as old as i thought. how old do seals get anyway? I admit I assumed no whitecoats meant no younguns. sorry for the assumption. I still don't feel bad about it. I've eaten veal too.

...I can't think of anything that should be condemned if the seal hunt isn't...is simply making us all out to be international misfits.
Wally, this thread is not for jokes. We have some individuals on here with serious moral ambivalencies. I can't think of anything that should be condemned if the seal hunt isn't. The world has virtually arrived at a consensus on this one and our government, currying favour with the throwbacks on our eastern coast, is simply making us all out to be international misfits.
