As for who is responsible for what.... the GG is ultimatley responsible for all her employees. The buck stops with her. The GG made the comments in her speach, and that was reflected in her web site. As far as I am concerned, the Government of Canada and the Prime Minister must make it VERY clear that this is completely unacceptable and imediatley replace the present GG. This will send a clear message to any future GG'snot to try and usurp more power or privilige than they are afforded by the Monarchy of Canada, the House and Senate, and the people of this country.

I would have preferred the use of the word dump here, but you can't have everything. This however is a start. Another start would be the creation of republican organizations in Canadian cities to get this issue moving to making Canada a republic.

That's the theory, the govt is responsible to the HoC. In reality, MPs are just pawns on a chessboard the PM moves around at will. About as real as the GG being a Head of State with real power. Ah yes, the majestic illusions.

Funny, when I see the guy, I always think about Blackadder, not Mr. Bean. But now I come to think of it, Harpy seems most like Mr. Bean, and the last PM seemed most like Blackadder. :D
