The first toonies I ever had in my pocket (somewhere about 25 or so years ago), when I lived up in PA (Prince Albert SK), swapping out an Alternator on a Sunday (= nothing open) ended up getting their Centers punched out and sacrificed as spacers (glorified washers) under the hood of a Cutlas Supreme.

It was winter day, & worth it to just get the job done before Monday morning. A toonie was worth more then than now too.

For some reason that I can't remember, we decided they make good targets. Put a workbench out in the yard and toonie in the vice and (attempt to) shoot the center out. Various mood modifiers may have been involved.
