"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you..." Ezek 36:26,27.

Jesus answered and said unto him (Nicodemus), Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John 3:3-7.

Religion will not give you eternal life...You must have His Spirit within you to enter into the kingdom of God.

First, take Jesus as your Savior from sin, and then invite His Spirit to live within you, and you will have eternal life - because He is eternal life.

Who was John? Was he not the guy who ate some moldy rye bread and hallucinated the horror story of Revelations? The man was a fruit loop. And Ezekiel saw flying flaming wheels floating through the sky. Another bad batch of rye bread?

Hi Cliff,

The West-Germanic myths are looking better all the time! At least they can be taken a little more seriously!
From Wikipedia, a 10th century poetic Anglo-Saxon reference to Woden - the Wednesday dude!

A snake came crawling, it bit a man.
Then Woden took nine glory-twigs,
Smote the serpent so that it flew into nine parts.
There apple brought this pass against poison,
That she nevermore would enter her house

Sure beats Revelations for common sense!

I've recently been perusing the Nag Hammadi library and noticed that without severe editing Jesus is obviously mentally ill.

But it doesn't rhyme! :-(

Actually, you can't beat the Cree for common sense. Most of what they deal with is tangible, like deer and buffalo. And when translated into English, I don't have to struggle to figure out what they are talking about.

Re: Born-Again

If you want to enter Heaven, you must be born-again.

So I should kill myself? Or just pretend I'm a good person now. Or I could just be a good person. That would be simple and straight forward. Yes, that's it. I'll just 'be' a good person of my own volition. I will earn it without falling on the sword of religion. OK, guess I'm done here.

A quick FYI for our posters. Multiple threads on the same topic are unnecessary, and will be merged and/or viewed as nothing but spam, especially if one posts only on that particular topic. If you find yourself to be such a poster, stop creating new threads, and post in the threads you have already created covering the issue you wish to discuss. Failure to do so can, and most likely will, result in being banned for spamming the board. Thank you.

JESUS said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3.

Actually, many people know they have already lived before. Perhaps, there is a choice to live another life rather than go to the heaven as described or not. After all, who wants to spend eternity singing praises to a being that claims he made his creations perfect, then punishes them for his mistakes in not being so??

Reincarnation has more actual proof for it than either heaven or hell. Certainly more evidence than can be produced for the biblical god

Thanx for your good wishes. In fact, I wouldn't mind going to one of those right wing televangelist churches if that would seal the deal.

:)
