If you’re one of the many Yahoo users (Yahoosers?) who hasn’t been terribly impressed with the numerous recent “upgrades” to the web giant’s e-mail service, you’re not alone, especially in the Yahoo offices, were 3-out-of-4 employees have apparently decided to just stick with Microsoft Outlook, in spite of the company’s pleas to switch.

“Earlier this year we asked you to move to Yahoo Mail for your corporate email account,” reads the message. “25% of you made the switch (thank you). But even if we used the most generous of grading curves (say, the one from organic chemistry), we have clearly failed in our goal to move our co-workers to Yahoo Mail.”

The memo calls it a “matter of principle to use the products we make,” adding “BTW, same for Search,” which implies that most Yahoo employees have the same feeling about Yahoo search as the general public.

I don't understand how they are still a company. Why does anyone still use Yahoo search or email?

haha that's funny. kinda like how a lot of people in virology/immunology don't get the flu shot.

anyway, facebook also has made some useless changes so I whined about it to no one in particular in my status:

"ok facebook, just for the record.... your PM chat bubbles aren't impressing anyone. why not innovate instead of follow? or better still, leave well-the-eff-nuff alone! You must think you're a supermarket, rearranging the store every few months just to keep people pissed off!"

They made changes to their email service?? I use @yahoo.com and didn't notice any changes.

Really?

I had used Yahoo Mail for as long as they have been around and had no problems until they eliminated Classic a few months ago.

They pulled a Rogers and didn't give you the Option of staying with Classic. I even inquired if I could pay for Classic with no response.

You can still use the original or the 'NEW' version. It is so cumbersome I and it would appear a lot of other heavy users have dropped it.

The feedback pages are indicative as to how many people aren't pleased..............

We want to hear from you!

We'd love to hear from you about the design changes you're seeing. Visit our feedback page for you to share your thoughts on the newest look and feel of Yahoo Mail

Hotmail and Yahoo (the later I just use for retrieval since the change) seem to both be getting rather aggressive in prompting requests for - a mobile ph number and/or an alternate e mail address under the guise of never losing your email.

I'm not sure why they are doing this but I created a few phony email addresses, which I doubt I will ever use, on another computer at another site to keep them happy.

Besides Politicians I don't know why anyone would be confident enough to send anything sensitive via e mail or the computer and assume no one will see it..........

you can make the chat bubbles big again by clicking on the "see all button" located under the PM drop down...for a while I was stuck with that tiny little window which was making me crazy

I tried the on-line mail and it is great for when travelling but for daily use I keep returning to Outlook, it's consistent, and you can open all your pictures from the attachments and you can imbed pictures in the body of the email...

The first version of Yahoo Mail was very basic (no pun intended) but maybe 10 years ago they came up with a new layout and it was very good, for everything I do anyways.

The latest incarnation is not appealing to me at all.

I am considering getting a 'pay for use' private e mail.........

Hotmail is irritating me by forcing me to answer questions to improve my "security". I have a very good password, and I don't want to have to enter it every day like they are making me. If I am signed in, KEEP me signed in.
