Well on top of dad's alcoholism, my mother was hugely sensitive to hard stuff. If she had a good amount of it - a glass, maybe two depending - she'd feel it in a headache for days. So there was always that, too. Not that I experienced it, but I always stopped myself when I started to feel just the slightest touch of "okay" 😅

Biden will finish out the last 5 months of his term, as the Democratics scramble to stuff someone onto the ballot that’s not Kamala Harris.

(Many anxious Democrats have clamored for other candidates, including Govs. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Gavin Newsom of California or Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania — worrying that Harris remains too polarizing a figure to win a majority of voters)
