You say you don't want to buy credits to offset your footie prints. Carbon credits are a tax you buy forwhat you use. No more, no less. Or you can be a credit producer by sequestring carbon and selling to chumps like you.

Well, by that standard they should implement the Starfleet Construction Tax and the Extraterrestrial Alien Immigrant Tax right now.

Slippery slope.

Within the context of this discussion, alleviating a problem that could happen within our lifetimes is not so unreasonable.

Looks like you've moved from a position that was previously based on undeniable facts to potential scenarios in the future.

Doesn't speak too highly of the 'settled science' that was pushed in our faces such a short time ago

Not sure what you guys are talking about but I guess I'll just have to splain my position again.

C02 is the main driver of global warming in our generation.

The scope of damage from global warming is in doubt.

I say it would not be significant for at least another 100 years, but acting now is prudent.

Thank you for proving that you never really knew what you were talking about.

Will this round of AGW do more damage than the AGW 600 years ago?

Dunno.

I would say we are likely to see more droughts, hurricanes or other extreme weather events as the century pushes on. The severity and quantity of such events is yet to be seen, but it would also be expensive to fix.

Socialists have never seen a tax they didn't like.

Carbon taxes discriminate against rural residents because we have zero access to public transit and NG for heat. Fortunately we do have firewood which is natural, sustainable and free. Not to mention the health benefits to burning wood.
