Wait..

No dramatic headline shift for Ontario?
Ebola preparedness: Ontario hospitals ready, officials say - Toronto - CBC News

"It is unlikely that we will have many cases of Ebola in Ontario," said Mowat, noting that there are no direct flights from West Africa to Ontario and it is not particularly easy to contract Ebola.

"An individual who is not displaying symptoms is not contagious," said Mowat.

No need. I've seen myself being eaten by it. I spent two week on vancomycin fighting the crap only to have to take linzolid.

I think SLM already made the case for how reliable nurses are when it comes to dealing with this problem.

I'll take the chief medical officer's statement instead thankyouverymuch

I think the contradictory statements about Ebola from the US Govt. that have proven false are the major reason for the public alarm in America. This Ebola episode has made the fundamental incompetence of the US Govt. manifest for all to see.

You take whomever's word you want.. the Doctor is not the first person to deal with you in the Emergency.. it's the nurse.

I don't care personally.. I said it before, the earth is over populated.. Mother Nature is long overdue for a reset.

Personally I get a kick out of the paranoia.. we all got to go some time..

They are, maybe not as much as one would hope. But ebola, for instance, is an infrequent disease. That means it's pretty hard to design a clinical trial to show that your product is effective, especially so for vaccines. But, an American pharmaceutical has purchased the license for a vaccine that the Public Health Agency of Canada owns the intellectual property for, and that is starting safety trials in the US right now. Should be into clinical trials in West African health workers by the end of the year or beginning of next year.

Works very well in non-human primate models, so chances are it will most likely work for humans.

Oh I'm sure that they are holding off on the vax so they can maximize dat profit.

Oh, so that comment you made earlier about how "sad" this situation is was complete bull**** then.

Good to know.

Also, we are all already aware that you are an astroturfer so just relax and enjoy the hits.

Have you ever seen a map of all the disease indications and warnings that pop up? Click here and have a look. I think Americas problem is their Hollywood view of the world, and of diseases like ebola.

Nurses share true feelings about Ebola outbreak on confessions app

In Boston they are having a grand meeting to say how prepared they are for Ebola.

Yet they will not allow the nurses to speak because they want to speak out on how unprepared they really are. They've been shut out of the gathering of politicians and medical personnel who are willing to tow the line.

Phew.. If it was a pandemic it would increase exponentially.. well that's a relief..

You're just mad because it has completely pushed the climate change hysteria from the headlines.

The thing I found disturbing about how these nurses were expected to handle these patients was the neck expose...they were told to put tape around their neck when dealing with that patient who had gallons of explosive diarrhea shooting out of him and hemorrhaging all over the place.

it was pointed out that the tape had permeable seams.......jesus

Only if you believe the govt. Heard several frontline nurses on BT today who told a different story.

In the U.S., 3 confirmed cases of Ebola, 1 death.

This year between 15 and 60 million Americans will contract the Flu. Up to 50,000 will die from it.

What would you say is the more pressing Public Health issue?

I get that.

But lets look at it this way. One patient got into the US with ebola... now two health care workers have it.

In Africa it has had a 70% mortality rate.

I am sure there were plenty of more important issues to deal with on the day that the Black Death came to Europe.

Should there be no concern?
