The Conservative Party has continuously use the Canadian justice system for means to act out their intentions, As they go delivering what they do is what matters, the end results is not about delivering Justice, the process is about intimidation, causing misery, cooking the information and I will show you mentality.
I have gathered lots of information which examples such play, strange thing is how the CP party can manipulate even justice to conceal the delivery of justice. I for one am not surprised how a justice was wh predicted, was their any doubt?i hope mr Duffy takes the pc party to the cleaners.i think I am going to write the justice proceeding over this circus and remind him he was wh ores and looked foolish doing it.

Adscam & Shawingate to mention just 2.

Any thoughts on those?

I'm not so sure about that. Should possible misuses of taxpayers money always lead to a full blown trial? Was it a "bribe cheque"???

On the possible guilty parties ability to pay for the costs and damages, yes. If we can't recover the cost. It's like flushing money down the toilet.

One of my favourite examples of delivering justice and truth doesn't matter is the mayerthorpe 4 inquiry, this case examples the capacity of the pc party to manipulate Justice

If you are going to write a letter to the higher echelons of Gov't you might get someone to proof read it before dropping it in the mail. :) :)

What's the point of even keeping track then?

I think Angstrom has answered your question. I think there's already a few criteria in place to satisfy before proceeding to trial. A couple that come to mind are - is there a good chance of conviction? AND is the public good served well by the expense? A third one might be with the shortage of personnel and facilities, cases to proceed must be chosen according to satisfying the criteria! :)

.. And I answered Angstrom's comment. Further, obviously all the criteria were in place as the trial did proceed.

I'll ask you again, with your remarkably high standard of the suspect being deemed guilty in advance, then why bother at all?

Give me a break I just purchased a I phone, just listen to the content not how it is delivered,as far as writing the upper crust of Ottawa,I do not believe you

Believing me is beside the point! I've copied a sentence of your own drivel for you to contemplate............."i think I am going to write the justice proceeding over this circus and remind him he was wh ores and looked foolish doing it." :)

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. I also have very little use for the porcine, egotistical, sneaky little creature, not that I have a hell of a lot more use for Harper as a humanitarian. I don't think Duffy was innocent by any means...................he took advantage of what he thought he could get away with. As far as the $90 grand is concerned he owed the debt, he repaid the debt and the rest is a matter between Duffy and Nigel. I'll bet the trial cost ten times the amount Duffy "stole"...............if that's the proper word.

Oooooooh ooooh, I've trespassed on Walter's political domain! :)

Like all thing before a election. It was hyped and blown out of proportion. And now we see the result of the horse and pony show.

It's the job of a political leader to win the election. Anyone surprised that Harper was in major damage control mode has to automatically be a candidate for 2016 biggest twit award.

It's what his job is. That's what you do

Not just Harper. All of them ;)

Can't totally agree there Angstrom- I think it's the political leader's job to do what is best for the electorate (which indirectly, might be instrumental in winning elections)

Ultimately, Duffy pushed this thing into full-blown trial

Ummmmmmmmmmm...............................Nope! :)

If only our electorate was that intelligent.

When the judge speaks of Harper in full damage control mode that would make a military commander proud.

This is what they do. All of them. When your in election mode. It's like going to war. Everything public perception, is analyzed.

The judge and the electorate have no idea the work that's put into winning a election.
