Re: Rex Murphy: The Drummond report and Ontario’s sham election

Given that astounding and troubling information, would it behoove the west to create some sort of "crow rate" for Ontario?

Maybe you haven't been around here long enough to know that Locutus repackages threads he doesn't like because he's getting paid for it.
Been around for a few years with about a year or so hiatus. Just don't pay attention to people's motives much.
I think it's a waste of time & bandwidth to have multiple threads saying the same thing. Redundancy is like that.

Re: Rex Murphy: The Drummond report and Ontario’s sham election

Couldn't have we applied that to the next beer bash and hooker extravaganza?

Well we could have but the money just keeps pouring in.

The stuff is starting to pile up! Next thing you know it'll start getting dusty, then we have hire maid, because despite the "uniform" I don't actually do dusting. ;)

Ontario rocks dude!!!!

You know with all the Israel/Palestine and "Let's all hate the USA" threads around here, I sincerely wish more people thought like you. :)

We should invent a new board game using the dusty stuff then.

Of course it does. After all it has the center of the universe in it, right?

You referring to EAO's 247,529 Izzy/Pally threads?

You should contact Hasbro, get that idea patented before someone else snatches it up.

Hey, I'm in Ontario and I rock.

Well, my mom says I'm cool. ;)

You referring to EAO's 247,529 Izzy/Pally threads?

That sounds vaguely familiar, yes.

Yeah, ol' Walter beat me on Rex's piece by an hour. Oh well, I'm sure the mods will fix that feeble-minded indiscretion to everyone's satisfaction.

Rex still deserves the headline in my books.

We could turn it into a game featuring flying machines and call it "Durrygible" and call the money "Durrbux"

I'm telling you, get the patent! It will sell like hotcakes.

Re: Rex Murphy: The Drummond report and Ontario’s sham election

First of all there was no sham election it was conducted according to the rules of the land.
The people voted and decided on who they wanted to lead the Province. Did they make
the best choice? Likely not but choose they did and now the people of that province have
to live with the results.
Did the people know all the financial facts? The likely did they just don't understand them
The very best way to confuse people is tell them the truth using big words.
If you are waiting for a government of any stripe to tell you the whole truth you are even
more challenged that most. It will never happen except maybe in a movie, remember the
movie Dave the guy who was a look alike President?
Ontario is in a huge mess because we had a series of free trade governments and those
wonderful people who believe in a global trading world and that we should share our bounty
until we are broke or living like third world impoverished people. As Canadians we must
understand if we embrace these concepts we will pay for it, as the whole thing is designed
as a race to the bottom, to protect the wealthy and the institutions that keep them as the real
power behind the throne.
Things will get worse for Ontario before the get better, and a positive outcome is not dependent
on Conservatives, Liberals or New Democrats, Survival is dependent on how the manage
what is left of the mess they are in. A sham no, the people voted and expressed their choice
at the ballot box, in accordance with the laws of the land. The outcome is not a good one but
a final one for now.

Yea, the fraud that is free trade. You won't hear teh propogandists at the CBC harp on the fact that billions flow out of this province each year. No, the CBC keeps harping (well until recently when our trade account ran into the red) on the trade account. So many lies. It's interesting to note that the intelligentsia and internationalists who pushed for free trade, have Unions/Associations et al. that protect their jobs from market forces.

Let's be clear, the current fiscal mess of the Ontario gov't has been caused by all political parties.

Given that various third party studies (albeit some with an agenda) have stated that provincial employees are over paid by 20%, then perhaps an immediate cut of 20% in wages is an overly simplistic solution, which won't enthuse anyone. Still that across the board cut would reduce the deficit by $11 Billion, with NO change in services.

Tax the rich for the remaining $5 Billion and we're done.

Pretty simple hunh.

Are we a trading Nation - Pretty hard to only sell to ourselves as we only have so much money to buy, ya know.
