Who decides whats "conventional" food supplies?

I eat steak, other people think thats abhorred when other food is available. I also have eaten Bison, Ostrich, Squirrel, Snake...

The fact that you can buy dog in south korea and it's not subject to any safety regulations would make it unconventional and possibly dangerous, Zzarchov.

ppl have their own delicacies. around the u.s. it seems like we only eat the dumb animals, i mean if u run up to a field where there is a cow and a horse, no doubt the horse will run, but the cow wont go anywhere. so which 1 would u go after? the one standing still of course, so we adapted to eating it.
in other countries, ppl think we're werid for eating cows or not eating dogs, or w/e

We eat millions of very intelligent pigs. I have six little pigs right now, they all have separate personalitys and are very friendly, it's thier bad luck that they taste so good.

Got a calf when I turned 10 but at 15 it was more a friend that food, but all good things end and it was butchered for a needy family.

When you have to eat a friend it's tough but I think proper reverance for food right from the start relieves the guilt of killing and butchering an animal that you've had a relationship with ,somewhat.
The first couple of maple glazed pork chops goes a long way toward mending a broken heart. The lies I tell my chickens and pigs is what gets to me scratch, I'm always talking to them about thier futures, education, dating, the economy secretly plotting thier ends. Does this make me a stone cold killer? Yes it does but that's how it works when you're an omnivore. We don't cry for potatoes, so our concern is questionable.

Chances are that steak won't be a choice cut of beef in New Delhi ... even if cows walk in the sidewalks and hold up traffic around starving street people. In a few other places ... don't order the Cantonese Chicken or the Peking Duck.... Some folks think carp is a delicacy. I'd rather eat a mud pie. It's probably for the best I forget that place where those spiced meat patties were fly larvae.

Hrm, Maggots eh? I always hear bugs are very nutritious but I gotta say, of all the myriad of animals I've eaten, maggots aren't one. Closest i've come is Shrimp, or as the Bible calls em "Maggots of the sea"

You might be amazed at how well, following heat, spice, chew and swallow, those valiant li'l buggers attempted to crawl back up when I realized "flelevvie" wasn't the name of the dish....

A dog isn't considered a family pet anymore than a pig in many parts of the world.

And as much as I like dogs, have you ever sat down and had a conversation about how disgusting it is to kill and eat a cow with a hindu?

In Europe they eat horsemeat, to North American's thats disgusting.
Horsemeat was eaten over here during the war. You just have to make do with what you have...
