The Western Governments didnot have the balls to take the last one to task and step up for their ruined childrenso does it really matter who the next pervert is to enjoy immunity fromjustice?

There is a chance of coursethat the next Pope will be better but I give it low odds. Do you?

Yeah, you are a miso-religionist, we got that a long time ago. So your point is ............ ?
(Excuse my attaching the prefix "miso-", meaning "hatred or dislike", to "religionist" a word meaning "person who is religiously zealous", but it fits).

It's no use Karrie, there's some subjects (like this one) that just bring out "stupid".
I agree, your posts being an excellent example.

I would have thought the link I provided yesterday might "clue up" some of the nutters! -:)
I read your link.

What's your point?

Are you aware of the actions Ratzinger took to bury reports of criminal activity under John Paul II?

Are you aware of the policies he wrote to commit obstruction of justice?

I find it odd that you are willing to forgo due process and hang some police officers but aren't willing to discuss investigating the actions of Ratzinger in hiding criminals and their activities, when there's ample evidence to support it.

I see that you are still calling for the Pope's head. I also see that you haven't called for the head of the Irish government, nor the Canadian government. Both have been found complicit in coverups concerning the abuse of children. I'd suggest you go to your bathroom, look in the mirror, and say "hypocrite".

Then lets take them on together bud.

I'd suggest you go to your bathroom, look in the mirror, and say "hypocrite".
But I'm not.

For God to have three stars, wouldn't He/She/It have to exist in the first place?

He does to those who haveinflated egos.

Ask them ---- Would a God condemn you justto have to die for you?

The largest inflated egoswill think that a slave master will die for his slaves.

Look at me the Christianssay, I am so important that a God will die for me.

Oops, Gods cannot die.

Ratherself-aggrandising that?

I expect the next Pope will be a tough operational commander.

The Church has had its irrepressible bridge builder in JP2.. its visionary theological infrastructure architect in B16.. i expect the next Pope to be builder of fortifications.. a purifier of the cadre.. as much of military as clerical bearing. The College is well aware that the dramatic decline of the economic, cultural, social and moral state of the West will likely bring persecution of the Church.. it always has in the past.

The Pope could be someone like Burke of the U.S., Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, the Chief Justice of the Vatican.. Scherer of Brazil.. archbishop of Sao Paulo.. there are others that fit the billet. It likely won't be Ouellett of Canada.. an intellectual and seen as being 'Curial' rather than 'Episcopal' in temperament.

They'll be looking for a hard edged, highly orthodox, nuts and bolts leader, not shy of using his authority to implement changes and clear out the riff raff, as forcefully as necessary. He'll likely retain B16s focus on the revitalizing of the internal instruments and organs of the Church.. to their original shape, intent and language.. especially the liturgy.. which is in tatters post Vatican 2. And he will be deaf to the appeals to 'modernize' the Church.. by being more 'inclusive'... notably of homosexuality and 'gender equality'.. seeing them for what they are.. incursions of evil.. and dissolution.. in the Church, the family or the nation.

The message will be to batten down the hatches.. and toss out the 5th column.. as the West has chosen to beat a path to self destruction and Hell by embracing the Culture of Death (abortion, euthenasia, homosexuality and the primacy of self gratification over responsibility, especially to God).. the Church can only set itself up as a redoubt.. a beacon in the encroaching darkness.. until some sanity is restored.

Of course.. i've been wrong before.. ;)

It's very unlikely that we'll have an African Pope.. this go around anyway.

It is possible we'll have a Latin American.. if so likely Archbishop Scherer of Sao Paulo.. even possible we could have an American, despite the fact that he'd be hampered by rumours of a CIA conspiracy.. like Peter Turkson would be by that of the Global Investment Organism and NWO. If so it likely will be Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura (Supreme Court).

But i'd put my money on an Italian.. Angelo Bagnasco, Archbishop of Genoa.. whose stated intention is to clean up the mess caused by Vatican 2, by 're-reading' in a strictly orthodox interpretation. This is a not a College that will be interested in innovation at this point in time.

Popes have always come from cultures deeply imbued in the Catholic tradition, going back a millennia at least.. Italy, Poland, Bavaria. The Church is in its infancy in Africa and Turkson is largely an unkown commodity.
What about, the best man for the job? What about choosing someone who can refocus the church? That would certainly grow the Catholicism for that area. Let me ask you this...is the church ready for a black pope?

The African will get some support from other 2nd and 3rd world cardinals and a few 'progressives'. Peter Turkson will be hampered by some remarks he's made on the use of condoms in Africa. He's viewed as a bit of loose canon.. unpredictable.. which is usually the death knell to prospects for election to the Papacy, by the tradition bound College.

Thanks Coldstream! ♦

Too bad because he looks interesting.
HIV/AIDS and condoms In 2009, he reaffirmed the Catholic social teaching on contraception, in regard to statements made by Pope Benedict XVI that condoms were not a solution to Africa’s AIDS crisis and were taken out of context by the media.[25] Turkson did not rule out condoms in all circumstances suggesting they could be useful in the situation of a married, faithful couple where one partner is infected; although he warns that, as the quality of condoms in Africa is poor, their use could engender false confidence. He said abstinence, fidelity, and refraining from sex if infected were the key to fighting the epidemic. He also believes that the money being spent on condoms would be better spent providing anti-retroviral drugs to those already infected.

I'll bet that cleaning up the mess is not in the best interests of those who engineered the mess in the first place. The Church is a heavily infiltrated institution now, it has the same infestation as the rest of western institutions. Don't discount the support of gold in the coming selection process.
