A controversial new Canadian cookbook, titled Fat: An Appreciation of a Misunderstood Ingredient, with Recipes, is taking the low-fat diet to task, and asking if many of society's current health woes are not actually the result of our reduced intake of butter, lard, suet, chicken skin and other animal fats.
"You can't be alive without fat," says author Jennifer McLagan, whose 2005 cookbook Bones won a James Beard award.

lack of fat prevents adequate vitamin absorption in many ways.

In essence, our society needs to relearn a cool little concept....

Hmm ... when I do the Santa thing down at le local kids' centre or fire hall, there's always the skeptics who have to test the beard or belly. They're both quite real ... and those li'l buggers live in fear of Rudolph scat....

I can't speak from the female perspective about males, but as a man I can honestly say
(health reasons aside) that a woman without some meat on her bones (like most of the
models that so many women really strive to emulate) just aren't all that attractive. The
idea of dueling hip-bones is a turn off...

Hehe I totally agree. I can't stand skinny guys - so much boney joints jabbing my LOVE handles ^^ Being a bit of a curvy woman, I'm often surprised to see how many second glances I get.

Then again, it's never good to be unhealthy. It goes both ways - just because a person is thin doesn't mean they're unhealthy.

I've found that, when it comes to food, balance matters. I love eating fruit - it's my favourite food. Yet I know that all that sugar isn't very good for me, so I try to balance it out with a good wholesome meal of veggies, meat and grains for dinner.

Like John Lee Hooker sang: I like my women with meat on their bones!

I should make it perfectly clear that bigger women are very nice indeed but you must be in good shape to carry them off. It's heart breaking to hurt your back during courtship. You could possibly entertain smaller women and make two trips.
