I didn't stay up to watch FOX news. That would make me a looneytoon!!!:lol: I'm a nurse and often times work night shift which means I eat my dinner in the lounge at all hours of the night. Our lounge tv is either on FOX or CNN depending on who the charge nurse is that shift. Everyone knows I'm Canadian, so they tease me about FOX reporting. Ann Coulter had a particularly nice rant once that someone even brought up on Youtube for me. I'm not wasting my time searching for it online, though I'm sure you could if you're interested. Bill O"Reilley has some nice ones too.
It doesn't make me indignant btw. It's always been a funny joke with my friends here. People in the US are free to think what they want about Canada. I disagree with some of the more conservative folks in their view of Canada, but I don't waste my time arguing with them. They might not agree with all my views of their country either, but in the end we're more alike than different and I see no point in focusing on the negative.

I haven't seen Rick Mercer in years, but all I saw was his "Talking to Americans" bit. I can't say I think it's anti-American since it's really just like Jay Leno's segment "Jaywalking". Either way, I doubt Americans care much. I've lived here almost 5 years and never had an American bring it up.
Can't it be more about the substance of the message? I don't mind Canadians or Americans critiquing eachother when the critique is fair and justified. I only disagree with either group doing it when there is no true substance to their rants.

Anyway, one of the FOX reporters, Bill O’Reilly (the one who settled a sexual harassment lawsuit out of court) was in Toronto a while ago and he was horrified when he saw the ‘sorry’ state Canada is in. According to him. Globe and Mail makes New York Times look like Washington Times.

First off, the Faux show was supposed to be a comedy (not being funny doesn't make it not a comedy - look at The Family Guy) and truth isn't all that important in comedies. Look at how many sitcoms there are where the guy is stupid and gets into trouble while the smart wife has to help him out (the Fred Flinstone syndrome). What percentage of them are the opposite scenario?
Secondly, we have no idea how many Americans Mercer had to talk to before he found one with something stupid to say. I'm quite sure if Leno came to TO and did Jay-Walking he would get the same results.
