Heh... I modifed my post while you were posting that. Yep, we can do it all here except laugh about how totally wrong I was. That we don't know yet.
We have to invite Gilbert and have a stout with him too. Matter of fact, the padre, and his compares too. After all, the bond is love, not religion.

Yes, we can certainly agree on that much at least. Love in the broadest sense, in the sense that the scriptures require that we love our neighbours. Doesn't mean you want to marry them and live with them for the rest of your days, it's about caring and interest and concern and compassion and help and support and honour and duty and loyalty and commitment and dignity and respect... The old Victorian virtues, to which I suscribe. I'd love to sit around a table with you and sanctus and Gil and self and karrie and amber and dozens of others here... but isn't that what we're really doing already?

Well, I'm glad you think so, Dex, but I go by dictionary definitions and the ones I saw in the link don't apply to me. I admit to having feelings, though, but that's passion, not spirituality.

Up where? I kinda get a charge out of people who think their "heaven" is up. I don't think you could find a heaven even if you could go up for the rest of your life and 20 other's lives. I almost laugh when I see people mentioning their god and looking up like it's sitting on top of a cloud or doing a flyby in an ultralight or whatever.

Again speaking of the spiritual heart that is in us. For when that is renewed we become new creatures of the new creation that is NOT of this world. That is why one is able to overcome the lusts of the flesh to the lusts of the spiritual kingdoms power.
All this is accomplished in the spirit of our spiritual hearts as indicated in the following verse: Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The heart is what needs renewing not the body. The body is going to die anyways. But you, who you are shall live on to be with Him in Heaven. Heaven is up as a point of reference, simply because we look up to God as a mighty God, Lord of the universe, second to none.
His power is demonstrated in us and by us as we give Him the place in our hearts.
Our life span is short on this earth, what we should do is make the best of it to learn about who we are in God and then help our neighbor to know Him as well.
That is consistent with the two great commandments. There is none other commandment given unto mankind by where renewal, salvation, and good will towards all mankind can be had.
The flesh was created such that of it's own power, the ability to reproduce self spiritually, is not there.
It takes a spiritual encounter with the God of the universe to activate one's heart to renewal and regeneration.
That can be had here on earth today, and enjoy the benefits of the new kingdom, while still in your skin.
Hell, is a term used to indicate spiritual separation causing death to the soul. (Heart) And hell can also mean a separation from the graces of God which brings to ourselves our own consequences of our sins. (Transgressions)
Originally, the sin of Adam was separation. Thus all born of him after him were and are spiritually separated from God. That means death to our souls. Thereby, necessitation a renewal, by forgiveness of all our sins, giving us the opportunity to achieve the impossible, enabling us to have entrance into the new spiritual kingdom.
Now, this view need not be accepted as x-plained because the option is yours. But I, knowing of this new kingdom and its power, can attest to its reality by reason of the experience.
I lack nothing in this world, for I have everything.
