An important distinction worth keeping in mind. I'm one of the most irreligious people I know, but I'm certainly aware of my spirituality. I might use different words than spirituality for it, and in fact often do, but they amount to the same thing. Anyone without spirituality is emotionally dead.

I like the way you said that....Thank You.

All due respect and so forth Gil, but that's bullsh*t. I've read stuff where you talk about your wife, and your children, and your feelings, and it's plain that you're as spiritual as I am.
So Dex in the space of a few posts you're spiritual then you're not willing to use the word spiritual now you're as spiritual as Gilberto. If you can't find the word you're looking for why not use religious?

Yes, among other things, but I really don't think I could give you, or anyone, a full explanation of it, any more than you can give us a full explanation of your faith, despite your many heroic attempts to try in multiple threads here (and good on you for that, I say). I can give you some examples though. I cannot listen unmoved to my favourite music, no matter how many times I hear it. I cannot read my favourite poetry without it stirring my deepest feelings, no matter how often I read it and re-read it. I cannot stand on a dark hillside and see the great curving sweep of the Milky Way winding in toward the galactic centre in Sagittarius without feeling awed and humbled. I cannot think of my wife and all she's been and done to me and for me without feeling overwhelmed with love and gratitude.

Such explanations, however, rapidly get deeply personal, and that's all I feel like sharing on a public message board.

Yes

That's not what I said. I said I usually use other words, not that I'm unwilling to use that one. In fact I *did* use it.
now you're as spiritual as Gilberto.
That's not what I said either. Other way around.
If you can't find the word you're looking for why not use religious?
Because it's not the right word, and it's not the right word partly because too many people think it means the same thing as spiritual.

Thank you. That is a point that is very important because it details who we are inside. And that inside is what lives on into the spirit world. For I will know you when it is all said and done here on this earth on the other side as Dexter and you will know me as AJ or Look.

Even though I have never seen you in person.

It would be nice to believe that, which is one of the things that makes me suspicious of it. I do appreciate your sentiments, though I'd hope we'd know each other by our real names at that point. I can hope that you're right, and sometimes I do. It'd be nice to see my parents again, and the friends and relatives I've lost, especially the ones who were taken off early by stupid mischance. But most of the time, I don't really think you're right about that.

I believe the heart is the spiritual side of us.

Without that heart, we couldn't love, hate, give, receive, trust, and reject.

That heart is what the focus of all my messages are towards.

I look at the heart and not the outside of the individual, for the heart is the hidden man.

That's an untested asertion Taloola, there are many, many heathens who display an irresponsible disregard for the natural world and mankind in general. We will have to do it for ourselves but where god has failed to motivate us to that end what hope has the common unbelieving rabble for environmental salvation in a timely manner.

We'll manage thank-you!!!

My understandings of all that I have studied and learned, I feel strongly that God has given me a big heart to exercise in behalf of many who would need a lift of confidences, and some assurances of there being a God of love.

All souls belong to Christ, and I strongly believe that all of us will know each other there. We will have appreciated the time we spent here on earth for if it were not for it, we wouldn't be sharing this message up there!
