Do these latest flying regulations make sense?

True ... nothing is %100 - even firecracker bombs near the tenderlies....

Ha, ha..true indeed. Speaking of "near the tenderlies", I thought I might have to have my underwear - along with some seat cover material - surgically removed after that little incident. Brings a whole new dimension to the word "wedgy."

What next? No carry on bags and luggage goes on a separate flight? I can't see that these new regulations are really going to make much of a difference except to passengers who are no longer able to access anything in their carry-on bags. Have to agree with CB, knee jerk reaction.

I don't understand the new security guidelines at all; one is no longer permitted to have carry on baggage. I hope Canada and the EU don't follow suit with this silly rule.

I see lawsuits coming from this when the default $1000 maximum coverage for damaged baggage doesn't cover the costs of the laptops that are destroyed because people had to check them. When they initially had the no baggage regulation they gave you a big bag to put your laptop/camera in for just this reason.

As for more strenuous regulations: nothing short of strip and cavity searching every person will ever put an end to security concerns. A condom full of explosives in the crouch just feels like the security guard is too close to a sexual harassment lawsuit.

They should feel proud that the security regulations made it so that the would be suicide bomber wasn't able to carry on enough explosives. I'm viewing this case as a success.

They should have swabbed that guy, those machines are very efficient and can pick up explosive residue off any hard surface. An efficient tester can run a swab in less then 30 seconds.
They use them all over Canada so im sure they have them in Nigeria.
I can see those see through the clothing machines will become popular.

They were just lucky he screwed up,a det. cap with the same ingredients the size of a firecracker would be very lethal. You dont need much of that stuff to make a big bang.
