Good for him for making an apology, really. It was the right thing to do and that needs to be acknowledged.

But with Don, it'll always be until the next time he runs his mouth off.

I don't hate Don Cherry, I don't even dislike him. He's loud and he runs his mouth off, but I've never gotten the impression that there's any real malice or hate in him, despite his lack of tact. He's just the way he is.

But good on him for showing a little more of the moderate, decent side of himself by issuing an apology.

I used to have respect for Cherry. He is an accomplished man who has done well for himself and his family. He is a talented performer as well. His 'act' on coaches corner has given him a continued career and is quite entertaining.
But... when he stood up in the counsel chambers of a major world city and performed his coaches corner 'act' in real life I most definitely saw him as a loud mouthed buffoon in real life. That was no act and while I can't say I disagree with all his opinions I found that display pretty low class and ignorant. He only continues with this.

Good for Don. Nice too that he didn't pull any 'buts' afterwards.

"Sorry I said that but...blah blah, they started it, I was having a 'bad day', dog ate my jacket..."

He didn't and he did it with sincerity. "I'm sorry about it, I really am".

I'll also bet he's already communicated one-on-one with those men.

The man is honest and sincere, just a buffoon about it.

No doubt he did - Hopefully this will put this to an end.

I thought it was pretty amusing. First he apologized, then he talked about Asham and what a upstanding guy he was for admitting his mistake and apologizing. It was clearly an attempt to pat himself on the back.
