It's hilarious...when liberal strong men attack other nations it's "sucked into attacking Kuwait" but when American attacks it's "Bush is a war criminal and America sucks and it's blood for oil etc, etc"

I,ll point out what,s hilarious, it,s when some hose smokin conservative quarterwit labels Saddam Husien a liberal. This poor delusional individual should have his drivers license pulled. Jeezus Jay what kind of rightwingnut drugs are you on today.

No, I wasn't calling Saddam a Liberal per se, just it seems that Liberals come out in droves to support him, so I said he was a Liberal strong man....

It was Rhodesia in those days. Later the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Today Zimbabwe is a rogue nation and whoever can flee from Mugabe has done so.

Ah, excuse me, but the United States did much to save Britain's butt in World War Two, long before they entered the war.

Roosevelt wanted in earlier, but there was strong isolationist sentiment in the USA. He did supply Lend-lease, which helped the Brits, in fact may have saved their butt, and (just before Pearl Harbour), the USA extended anti-submarine actions out to mid-Atlantic.

The Yanks were late coming in, but there is no doubt which side they were on.

Maybe you should have told that to the Kennedy's...after all, Joe Kennedy was the american ambassitor to GB...strange, he said we would be dead in a matter of days.

Besides, isolationism was just another form of ignorance, it's here, it's big, and it's in your face...and if you didnt do anything, it'd be all over you....you know you had to act quick

Joe Kennedy was a Nazi sympathizer at his worst, and a weak-kneed apologist for Adolph at his best.

Roosevelt's actions before the USA entered the war left him foaming at the mouth.

I can honestly say.......I dont disagree with ITN there lol....we would have been beaten the crap out of on our own....thats why russia was there lol.

as I've stated before, I think america was conned into vietnam....the reason we did not enter vietnam was because we'd just finished routing comunists in singapore and malaya actually.

and yes we were too weak, in all honesty, we were too weak for war FULL STOP until the falklands....ww1 and 2 killed us as a global power, we were spent, I know this, this is a fact, but new britain is back baby, we're a global power again

New britian you have had the same amount of power since the end of wwII, you havent gained any. Europe in general doesnt have much power and it will only continue to decline. Dont say anything about the eu either, becuase when you have to add up 25 countries to even come close to the usa. and that is only cuz of trade. Europes militaries are a joke, you cant project force, the brits have bogus aircraft carriers, and frances doesnt even work all the time.

pfunks5, first and foremost, welcome to Canadian Content.

To the topic at hand, the arrogance of the United States of America may perhaps one day serve as its own instrument of self-damage; I have no doubt that one day the U.S. is going to bite off more than it can chew.

RE: Describe the United S

Pfunks5, firstly, hello, secondly, shame about the spelling, and thirdly, dont talk out of ur ass.

1. Britain has seen a LOT of ups and downs over the last 50 years.....pretty much down until 79, I think everyone on the board will agree, we started improving under the thatcher government, we are, for our size, a mega power, britain is smaller than the state of new york, and with a much bigger ecomony, if we had 50 states with the same power as britain, you would be nothing, a tiny miniscule backwater in the power stakes.

2. I do not intend to argue with you about europe, but I have actually been on a british aircraft carrier.....it's far from a joke....it's fully operational, and ready...just ask Argentina.

3. You are the example I was explaining about...."ooohhh america's sooo big were' sooo powerful and your nothing" playing the big I AM...we can all do that, but pride comes with a fall, someone will take over your place....probably china.

Britian is not a megepower for there size, and i wouldnt be warning me about china. there the ones that are gonna take your countries place not mine. Britian can only have harriers on there aircraft carriers, come on if you had to face a a decent air plane you would lose. those things are subsonic. I wouldnt be bragging that you didnt lose to Argentina. thats not a tough country to beat.

Enough.

If you are going to have another "My ego's bigger" parade, take it to the damned Wreck Beach. We are not going to have another repeat of last night, whether or not you care to accept that.

pfunks5, if you insist on this arrogant ego-tripping, there is a forum, Wreck Beach, under the Canadian Content category. I would strongly recommend it; standard rules for thread moderation do not apply there.
