It's just that you blamed our taxes on the cost of gasoline going higher, as if the Americans do not pay taxes on gasoline at the pumps.

We all know we have higher taxes than America .

You are skewing the rise in gasoline price gouging going on here in Canada for the wrong reasons.

the taxes have remained the same as the prices climb to record levels for arcane reasons that the Big Oil people give us.

It all comes down to control over our oil.

The oil is nothing till it is refined.

Every spring refineries do shut downs and supply and demand kicks in. Nobody is colluding.

I was not referring to this. At all!
I am pointing out the fact that Canadian run oil refineries have been shut down .
Over half of them since the 70's.

and yet demand grows, funny that eh!
Meh Petros enjoy yourself.
sleep the deep sleep of opium and serve your masters .
so what if you are paying triple the amount daily .

"Bah humbug, it's all humbug Count, my masters are looking after me Count Lothian, they are not screwing me over and working in collusion with the American Big Oil companies"

Refineries are bad for the environment. You seem to be overlooking efficiency.

My old 1969 F100 uses three times more than my 2013 ego boost F150 4x4.

Did I bring up the ridiculous cost involved in mandated green ethanol?

I guess I just did.

Is "ego" a typo or Freudian slip?

In the long run, it will harm more people and other life forms than it will benefit. The same goes for the Northern Gateway. Greed and ignorance will be the death of us all.

Please elaborate. I'm interested in how a pipeline can spell disaster to humankind - seriously. How would a pipeline vs. say, hauling by trains and trucks be detrimental - and you KNOW that this is what's happening now and will continue to happen.

Your words are nice (but problematic) because they don't mean anything without further explanation. Please enlighten me.

Thank you.

I disagree, I think that he has enough knowledge to understand that the only negatives (as compared to the alternatives) need to be presented as platitudes.

A broad, watery statement that really addresses nothing of substance is the only alternative he has available

He needs cable TV. YouTube is doing too much damage. Perhaps when BC NG hits international markets BC will pay their disabled at the rates AB and SK do which is double what he gets now.

PS... Speaking of losses in America. Sometime they are our gain. A $900 million polypropylene plant that was ear marked for Oklahoma starts construction inEdm this spring. Then by golly all that polypropylene get shipped by rail to TX gulf coast plastic facilities that were built for the products such as polypropelene found in CDN heavy. The nylon plant in Prince Albert is still a go too.

I hope they defeat this pipeline altogether. XL is for Americans at our expense
we need a refinery here and we need to ship finished products at much higher
prices and at profitable but lower prices for our own resource.
Americans will suffer from loss of jobs if it doesn't get built but it won't give them
more oil. EX pipeline oil is destined for export out of Texas.
That means America gets the crude America gets the jobs and America gets the
money from finished product. Canadians get a small amount of what it is worth
and much of the risk and other peoples kids get the wealth.
Our resources should be for Canadians first and the bulk of the money should be
of benefit to us
Northern Gateway is being pushed on us by a company of suspect reputation and a
government who does not share the views of British Columbians No matter how
many polls they take they can't get the majority of BC residents to like it. The host
city hates it still they want to ram it down our throat.
The Kinder Morgan Pipeline as a pipeline I don't have a problem with they are a
more responsible company. The part I don't like is selling any raw materials to
countries in Asia that compete with us. We have the energy advantage
We could also in some way reward companies with energy that produce jobs here.
and the WTO can suck an egg. Three things will soon be of value on this planet.
Food Water Oil and we have it and if you have it flaunt it we will be able to sell
to who we want for the price we want all we have to do is wait a little longer..
