We on earth look out into the night and name the constellations in space. I sometimes
wonder what someone on another planet calls earth and the other objects they see in
their universe.
Looking into space is like being on one side of a river and not being able to cross. Who
will make the first contact and when,, it will happen at some point and unfortunately we
probably won't be here for the event. We hear and see all the theorists with their stories
about abductions and all that, well the real story is fascinating as it is without all the drama
of their self importance.
Thank you for the great pictures.

Scientifically Creative Astro Art. (This pic is most definitely more Astro Science than Creative Art .)
Visually Stunning and Very Educational ...All in 1 .Pic..:)

Astronomers unveil historic 3-D map of the universe - thestar.com

Astronomers have unveiled the most complete 3-D map of the universe ever created. In this projection, the plane of the Milky Way runs horizontally across the centre of the image. The dots indicate individual galaxies containing billions of stars. Red indicates the galaxies that are farthest away, while purple connotes the closest galaxies.

So ends our space career. man once attempted to go to space, succeeded then failed to follow up. Sounds like man is just a bunch of wimps, and what a waste. Another dream of mans gone.

MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian space official said Wednesday that once the mammoth International Space Station is no longer needed it will be sent into the Pacific Ocean.
It's a plan that's long been in the works and is a step to avoid the station becoming dangerous space junk. It was supposed to plunge into the ocean as early as 2015. The U.S. recently extended its life until at least 2020, and there's been talk of keeping it going even longer.
Vitaly Davydov, deputy head of the Russian space agency, said the orbiting outpost will be destroyed in a controlled descent to Earth "so that there is no space junk left behind."

When it plunges to Earth, unless we have another space station or we've gone back to the Moon - or farther - I'll be really sad. Remembering all those times I've seen it, a tiny white dot in the sky, glide past the stars...

Long live the space age.

Well... maybe we just aren't there yet. Space travel is so expensive. Don't get me wrong, it is sad to see the world's space programs stuck in limbo but further moon missions and a Mars mission seems so far away.

Maybe our grandkids will see it done.

Maybe sooner than we think if this new rocket gets off the ground.

NASA announced plans today (Sept. 14) for a new giant rocket that will one day carry astronauts on deep space missions to destinations such as an asteroid or Mars. The next-generation launch vehicle is expected to be the most powerful rocket ever built, capable of taking human explorers to targets further in space than ever before, agency officials said.
