Date Square with Bourbon? Rum?

So I make a wicked bourbon banana bread. Not bragging, just saying.

I happen to really like date square. Homemade so I can add allspice to the date mixture. I'm wondering what kind of alcohol would be as complimentary to date squares as bourbon is to banana bread. any ideas?

That's so funny. I was watching 8 out of 10 cats last night and Jimmy Carr brought out a bottle of Mead. Sean had 2 glasses and got a bit silly.

I'm going to see about getting a bottle of this on the weekend and see.

I make mead. $21.86 of ingredients makes 12 litres.

yep, I totally agree. Cinnamon hearts burn the taste buds off your tongue after awhile...and they don't give you that enveloping warmth like Fireball does...

I love the smell of hash....I wonder how'd it smell cooking in a date square? I'd probably just end up smoking it all and hitting the mountains and forgetting I was in the middle of cooking something. lol

My mother used to make a wicked Xmas fruit cake with rum, also made her plum pudding with rum. They were not both delicious but could be kept for a long time if needed.
