Carter did not cause Castro to release the prisoners.

Castro released the prisoners first.

Carter just did not know what to do about it.

That was another sick irony about Castro crapping all over the one President who wanted to normalize relations with that island.

liar liar pants on fire...

As president from 1977-81, Carter helped re-establish diplomatic missions in both countries and negotiated the release of thousands of political prisoners. He also made it possible for Cuban exiles to visit relatives on the island and, for a short time, for other Americans to travel here freely.

My question does not fit your regularly scheduled programming does it?

Carter puts out an open hand out and Castro releases the worst of the worst out of his prisons as a big thank you for Carter trying to normalize relations.

And now you want America to try opening up to that island again ?

Let Castro be totally free from America economically and politically, and that will save us from the likes of you who will be complaining either way, having now been no fairer a judge than you accuse Americans.

Iran says warships coming to the Atlantic for 1st time

Iran has threatened to send a flotilla into the western Atlantic, presumably to visit a friendly Latin American nation, such as Cuba, for years. The country's Navy chief said again in 2017 that it was a goal of the Islamic Republic.
"Our fleet of warships will be sent to the Atlantic Ocean in the near future and will visit one of the friendly states in South America and the Gulf of Mexico," Iran's state-run Fars news agency quoted Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi as saying in November 2017.
The tension between Iran and the U.S. has mounted after President Donald Trump's unilateral withdrawal from the international nuclear agreement reached under his predecessor and his move to reinstate harsh economic sanctions on Tehran.
While Iran's navy and Revolutionary guard vessels often harass American warships in the Persian Gulf, close to their home waters, it remains unclear how they might behave in the vast open waters of the Atlantic, especially under the watchful eye of the far superior U.S. military.

That and the Russian bombers is enough to say they are opening a base in the area. The two islands owned by Norway are US bases aren't they?? Lots of flights went there during the Haiti relief effort.
