finally word from the school district about the school year. All schools will remain closed and face to face classes are over ufn. Everyone will pass - or I guess everyone who was already passing will pass. They are going to try and get online instruction and assignments going.

It is a difficult situation especially for graduating students - who will be entering first year college/university next year along side the current first year students who cannot as easily be moved along to second year. It seems there will be a sort of double cohort along the lines of what Ontario had the year they ended grade 13.

They are temporary but we don't know how long for. Probably for at least three months.

Today we finished early, at 8pm, due to their not being much to pick and pack with many of the companies which are our customers shutting down temporarily.

It was a bit emotional saying goodbye to some of my friends tonight knowing I might never see them again.

Just like you.....many are affected on an emotional level as well as financial or health .

It is a sense of loss ...The virus is hitting all the vulnerable areas of humanity.

So sorry to hear about Boris Johnson ........and prince Charles too. Not good.

It's all very stressful and anxiety-inducing and to top it all off I'm going to have to spend a warm and sunny spring weekend not being allowed to go out except to buy food, partake in fairly brief exercise or visit a GP or hospital, but I just keep telling myself that my grandparents had to go through much much worse.

Hopefully it'll all be over fairly soon.

In situations like this ....it seems best to take things one day at a time. It can get overwhelming if one allows it.

Yes it can be stressful. Think of the things you CAN do as opposed to the things you can't. The can't is temporary. As you are working.......you still get out of the house etc . That is a positive.;-)

and yes..... there have been generations that had it far worse............. for various reasons.

Better than some in some areas, average in most and absolutely horrific in others.

It could be stellar if the system wasn't so abused by patients and staff.

If Canadians saw the bill for a common sprain after a trip through the ED or seeing an MD for the sniffles it would give perspective make people think twice about usage.

Well there are good things.

I can spend my weekend posting on here and watching funny YouTube videos; playing on the XBOX; watch DVDs; reading that good book I'm halfway through; listening to music; drinking those nice two bottles of white wine I've had for a while. So it's not all bad.

It's hard to get up at 630 when you are used to going to the pub for 3 hours after your evening shift?

We dont have equal coverage here and a big chunk of Canadians pay for insurance. How much do they ding you per month in BC for your "free health care"?

500,000 Americans filed for bankruptcy last year over medical expenses. That is at least one reason the Canadian health care system may be seen as "better."
