the markets go up, the markets go down. Not necessarily related to production or purchasing. Or much of anything else that really matters. How are the $900 tesla shares that hoid was pimping doing?

Still half price. Still pretty high for a company that does not pay dividends and has little hope of long term survival in its current model.

Elon is buying more back to float the price. Wait until the $2.2B Tesla shareholder lawsuit hits Muskrat, he wont float the price any longer to keep them happy.

Elon Musk: The kind of egotist who thinks his Tesla factory is an essential business. County Sheriffs had to tell Musk that Tesla ISN'T an essential service/business and that he had to shut it down as per state legislation.

Partisan tensions erupt in the Senate as coronavirus stimulus bill fails for a second time
Partisan tensions erupted on Monday afternoon as the Senate failed for a second time to advance a massive stimulus package to address the economic impact of the coronavirus, with lawmakers from each side accusing the other party of holding up negotiations.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., excoriated Democrats ahead of the vote saying, "this body can't get its act together and the only reason it can't get its act together is right over here on the other side of the aisle."
Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, meanwhile accused a Republican colleague of "always" doing "the president's bidding."

The divider in chief style of governing only fosters angst and distension. as the anger and frustration builds............ Guns might come into the decision making and conflict resolution;.
********
Trump is actually considering loosening up the social distancing precautions and opening some services to deal with the economy.
source: CNN
All was going good until Pelosi swooped in on Sunday and all of a sudden environmental regulations and funding for the Green new deal started appearing being written into the aid bill. WTF?
Trump signals openings: US not 'built to be shut down'
President Trump said Monday that his administration would work to allow local economies to "cautiously resume" activities at the appropriate time amid the coronavirus outbreak, adding that the United States "wasn't built to be shut down."
"Our public health experts, who are terrific, are studying the variation and the disease across the country, and we will be using data to recommend new protocols to allow local economies to cautiously resume their activity at the appropriate time," Trump told reporters in the White House briefing room Monday evening...……...More
And like a few of us been saying MSM trying to drive division in the administration and help the Dems. defeat Trump this fall
This NYT headline is very misleading
Trump Has Given Unusual Leeway to Fauci, but Aides Say He’s Losing His Patience
NYT writes this
But Dr. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, has grown bolder in correcting the president’s falsehoods and overly rosy statements about the spread of the coronavirus in the past two weeks — and he has become a hero to the president’s critics because of it. And now, Mr. Trump’s patience has started to wear thin.
And this
When Mr. Trump knows that he has more to gain than to lose by keeping an adviser, he has resisted impulses to fight back against apparent criticism, sometimes for monthslong interludes. One example was when he wanted to fire the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, in 2017 and early 2018. Another was Jeff Sessions, the former attorney general. Mr. Trump eventually fired both when he felt the danger in doing so had passed.
Dr. Fauci says this
In an interview with Science Magazine, Dr. Fauci responded to a question about how he had managed to not get fired by saying that, to Mr. Trump’s “credit, even though we disagree on some things, he listens. He goes his own way. He has his own style. But on substantive issues, he does listen to what I say.”
And this
“The president has heard, as we all have heard, what are what I call anecdotal reports that certain drugs work. So what he was trying to do and express was the hope that if they might work, let’s try and push their usage,” Dr. Fauci said. “I, on the other side, have said I’m not disagreeing with the fact anecdotally they might work, but my job is to prove definitively from a scientific standpoint that they do work. So I was taking a purely medical, scientific standpoint, and the president was trying to bring hope to the people.”
And this
Dr. Fauci, for his part, has been dismissive of some questions about whether he was at odds with the president, treating it as a news media obsession.
“I think there’s this issue of trying to separate the two of us,” he said.
So now the NYT made a hit piece out of nothing to really report

Why do people hate Tesla? It's pretty impressive technology. Btw, how are the dinosaur bailed out car companies doing?

I don't think anyone actually hates tesla. More the hype about a product that really isn't as good as advertised. That and the massive amounts of taxpayer subsidies that go into the sale and continued use of EVs in general.

Many people hate anything that wasn't around when they had hair and the ability to achieve erection.

For a while, that is. Then they adjust, like they did to the google machine on their desks that lets them share their fear, anger, and hate.

That's actually not a matter of political orientation. Remember when the lefties were shrieking at the "big box" stores? They used exactly the same arguments that were used against supermarkets back in the day (will put butchers, bakers, greengrocers, etc. out of business). Nowadays terrified old people accept them because supermarkets go back far enough to be familiar to them from the aforementioned hairy, hard-on days.

If he applies for the aid package he won't be allowed to buy back any shares, he'll have to make a big decision save the company or take the money, interesting decision for him.

Nobody hates Tesla and it is interesting technology, when it is promoted as the world savior and will take out the Fossil fuel market is where fantasy must meet reality.

I am tempted to buy one to have one to play with, it will never replace my ICE vehicles as my main vehicle for work, or long trips, unless the battery charge retention technology changes by 10 fold or more.

President Trump warns of clinical nationwide depression if we continue to self-isolate en masse. "No, I'm not talking about economic," he says. "What I'm talking about is people suffering massive depression. ... Where people commit suicide ... Where tremendous death happens."
Remember that line....."We can't have the cure be worse than the problem."
It's coming, this dude is insane.

Here we go....

Our people want to return to work. They will practice Social Distancing and all else, and Seniors will be watched over protectively & lovingly. We can do two things together. THE CURE CANNOT BE WORSE (by far) THAN THE PROBLEM! Congress MUST ACT NOW. We will come back strong!

Wouldn't hiking in that back country away from other people be considered Social Distancing.. as long as you are 6 feet away from the other people
I would agree with you if people weren't arriving en mass, mixing in the parking lot and going on group hikes.
