In his position and with al that power...he does NOT have to demonstrate ho mean spirited he is.........or how highly he thinks of himself. He is too insecure add is not prepared to learn what he does no;t know........He is easily threatened........and overly sensitive to negative ...if constructive......feedback.
I actually feel really sorry for him.........for he knows not what he is or does. but believes he is exceptional in most things. that is sad...He is hurt far too easily........but plays the tough guy. He acts like he has nothing t o lose......but KNOWS he has everything to lose. Look at his history. He is disorganized & inconstant in his thoughts and behavior. which could suggest some brain disorder. Most of this is obvious to everyone......if they stop and really observe him.
Of course I did. But it was overshadowed by his self congratulations. It was over shadowed by his snappish behavior against a couple of reporters. His meanness and his self congratulatory behavior overshadows any positives......... It is like he is his own worst enemy.

Yet those reporters were looking to have him contradict himself so they could self congratulate themselves and show up the President . Sadly to many right of center politicians let the press set the agenda . Trump to his credit sets the agenda .

My guess OB is that they like the word hate so much because it's a cop out, a way out and the means to back out of any conversation that even hints "Orange Man Bad" is flawed in any way.
Trump holds these pressers because he can't hold his rallies, they are intended to inform, lead, unite and yes comfort the American people, but we're in Trump country now. Trump turns these pressers into an hours long (at times) attack rant on the Dem's, the media and anyone else who dares not dirty a knee when he enters a room.

I don't think the reporters were looking to have Trump contradict himself, rather they were pointing out that he DID contradict himself. For instance the woman reporter raised the point that although Trump claims he closed off all travel with China, he in fact did not do so. His order temporarily barred entry by foreign nationals only.
Trump’s order did not fully “close” the U.S. off to China, as he asserts. It temporarily barred entry by foreign nationals who had traveled in China within the previous 14 days, with exceptions for the immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Americans returning from China were allowed back after enhanced screening at select ports of entry and for 14 days afterward. But U.S. scientists say screenings can miss people who don’t yet show symptoms of COVID-19; while symptoms often appear within five or six days of exposure, the incubation period is 14 days.
