What is it? Experts believe the carcass could have been a killer whale or a pilot whale

'It's like nothing we have ever seen, it almost looks pre-historic,' he told the Sun.

Curled up by the foot of sand dunes was the 30ft-long body of the unidentified animal with head, tail and teeth all discernible.

Experts are now examining the pictures with one suggesting it could be the body of a whale.

Whale of a time: A marine life expert suggested the body could belong to a killer whale, above, or a pilot whale, below

A spokesman for the Natural History Museum said: 'We have spoken to one of our mammals curators, and they have confirmed the animal is probably a long-finned pilot whale – Globicephala melas.

'Apparently it’s not unusual for these to wash up on the shore.'

Rob Deville, a marine life expert at London Zoo, said the body could be that of a killer whale or a smaller pilot whale.

Whale expert Mark Simmonds told the Sun: 'it died a long time ago and tides caused the body to wash ashore.'

It's a super size garlic coil!

It is not unusual enough to stun anybody, unless, of course, they are already stunned.

That would probably explaining why his presence is underwhelming in comparison to the real monsters like Bush.

Wow, trying to sidetrack even THIS to US politics? talk about grabbing at straws.

karrie, I hope you directed your chastisement to Nuggler, who implied - nay, said - that the washed up monster is remains one of the greatest persons of the 20th century, Margaret Thatcher.

My post was nothing but a response - shamefully sunk to his/her level - of retaliation.

Or to mentalfloss, who can't help but be obstinate.

At least it's not a Narwhal. When those carcasses are found someone almost always proclaims it to be Unicorn from Atlantis.

Someone's always looking for something that 'proves' their fantasy worlds.

One man's fantasy world is another man's reality. Are unicorns and Atlantis any more silly than floating on clouds, playing harps or living in floating palaces in the sky?

Faith and fantasy are 2 different things, Cliffy, starting with a comprehensive, rational and integrated theology and eschatology.. no fantasy even attempts that.. one anchors itself in reality, the other on the unbridled imagination.. one forms a solid foundation, the other shifts with the sands and currents... some day you'll understand..

Anything that you have not seen or experienced and yet believe in is a fantasy. Faith is not something based on a belief system. Faith is an open heart and mind to the truth where ever and when ever you find it. Faith is trust in the integrity of the truth and the truth is presented to each individual in a way that they can understand and accept. IMO, belief has no place in faith.
