Controversial radio ad targets Muslims and Obama supporters

MASON, TX (KVUE/ KHLB RADIO/CNN) – A Texas radio advertisement is causing controversy after a man teaching a weapons class is refusing service to anyone who supports President Obama or is a Muslim, Arab.

The radio ad for a concealed handgun class at Keller's Riverside store in Maston, TX was intended to bring in some extra business.

The advertisement began on a folksy note:

"Hello friends and a neighbors in Mason and surrounding counties," said weapons instructor, Crocket Keller."Be a vic-tor, not a vic-tim."

But about 45 seconds into the advertisement, Keller began adding disclaimers.

"If you are a socialist, liberal and/or voted for the current 'campaigner-in-chief' please do not take this class," Keller said. "You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under law."

Keller did not stop there.

"Also, if you are an Arab or Muslim I will not teach you the class," Keller said. "Once again, with no shame, I am Crockett Keller, thank you and God bless."

Behind Keller's store, he teaches concealed carry courses to earn a few extra dollars. He defends the advertisement.

"I call it exercising my right to choose who I instruct in how to use dangerous weapons," Keller said.

The Department of Public Safety, which oversees the concealed carry program in Texas, says an instructor risks their license by denying service based on race, religion or ethnicity.

The man is an idiot.

The most famous and respected expert witness and self-defense trainer in the United States of America is a gentleman by the name of.......

(wait for it)

Massad Ayoob.

Mr. Ayoob is so respected he has even been an expert witness in Canadian shooting trials, most prominently one in which a Montreal police officer shot and killed a unarmed 17 year old that was running away.......

Mr. Ayoob established successfully that it was an accident, due to poor training in the use of revolvers.

If this moron has never heard of Massad Ayoob, he has no business training people in armed self-defense.

Had people like you not constantly broadcast this message all over the world, nobody but a few rednecks would have ever heard this or read about it.

But no, liberals had to spread the word, put it on every news cast, blog about it everwhere and generall call a LOT of attention to this stupidity.

In the process, they also made absolutely certain that every racist, ever redneck, every stupid hater in the USA, Canada Britain, etc. not only HEARD about this, but heard and saw the actual advertisement.

Good thinking, to help SPREAD hate.

Ignorance knows no bounds it would appear. There are a selection of crazies for
every movement, political, religious, and almost any other group. This does not
mean the mainstream of any group believes the same thing.
What is the old saying? It is better to be thought an idiot and be silent, rather than
open your mouth and remove all doubt as this fellow has apparently done.

How did this become a right wing left wing thing? Some people don't know
what is news and what is not. Do I? Well I think I do having at one time
been a news director. I sometimes do wonder what modern news rooms are
thinking. We have in many cases combined news with entertainment but as
a rule I think most things are newsworthy but not always.
Standard or traditional newsrooms are also under pressure from Webb news
and that makes a big difference.
The fact of the matter is it reflects badly on the Republicans because the guy
is outrageous, and an anti Obama person. What we project is who we are.
This guy however is not necessarily even a Republican but he has everyone
paint that group with one brush. The Reason? In today's world, the Perception
of Reality is the Reality. That is why one should understand that their actions
have a wide view for the world to see. If one person is a bully they must be
bullies, if one is ignorant they are all ignorant, and if one seems to be friendly
and virtuous they all are and so on.
The biggest problem for the Republicans is the Tea Party they set the image a
bad one for the most part. Therefore the Republicans who are afraid to stand
up to them, are now painted with the same brush.
In this case they see an idiot, and they go well he is anti Obama so he must be
a Republican, whether he is or not. No it is not necessarily fair but it is the
perception of reality.
The news world is changing and social news media is changing it. There is some
irony in the fact that many of those who made it so popular were in fact against
the Liberal establishment and now that well oiled institution is using against them

How did this become a right wing left wing thing?

Everything is right and left wing. If you consider yourself left of center every problem is the fault of Faux news, George Bush and big corporations. If you consider yourself right of center every problem is the fault of CNN news, Barrack Obama and big unions. How long have you been coming to this site and you haven't figured this out yet?

News looks for controversy - You know that as well as i - perhaps they should study peoples reactions to news stories - Good idea of where there head is at.
