I don't trust opening our borders and social systems up to people who have never paid a penny towards Canada.

I'm afraid that many people will lose their jobs to foreigners who will work for $5/day and have no skills or training. Aren't you afraid for your family when all of a sudden most of the truckers can't speak or read english, have zero experience and are barreling down the roads at highway speed next to your kids? Aren't you scared when we have untrained personnel with no idea of what they're doing running excavators for $2.50/hr.

Oh, BTW, I am afraid to lose my job. Not because I am lazy or don't do a good job but because I have a girlfriend & 5 kids that depend on my income to eat and have a house and transportation. I have police & schools & welfare bums relying on my $50k contribution to the taxman every year. I have charities I support counting on my donations to give poor CANADIANS a christmas meal and gifts. Things like this obviously never enter your peanut sized brain when you propose asinine ideas of bringing in foreigners to use our health & welfare systems and steal our jobs.

You totally misunderstood me. i say scrap healthcare then.

As for social security, make it charity-funded only. I can guarantee Mexicans won't be too interested in coming to our expensive country then unless they can pay for it.

BTW, I don't do drugs. heck, I don't even consume alcohol and almost never consume caffeine.

Heck, I'm even vegan. So why would I want to try crack?

There are millions of people in Canada who deserve compassion and assistance. I'll look after them. Our govt already send million upon millions of tax dollars to the third world, they don't need to come here and use our social services for free too.

Yeah, but there's a limit, Nick..............while our poor people are eating Kraft Dinner and Pork and beans, some of the poor buggers overseas get nothing or next to nothing for days on end. Do we neglect them because of an artificial line on a piece of paper?

A little off topic, but what's to be gained by shunning coffee and avoiding meat, fish, poultry?

That's selfish. Canadians should willingly accept a reduction in their living standards in order to help the dispossessed and poor from the third world. There's so much land in Canada. The Canadians can use it all. They should share just the same way America shares with Mexico and Central America. That's the compassionate thing to do. Canadians need to be less selfish.

BT , if you are still wondering why I put on ignore, pls read the statement PN is responding to...

Nick you are being 'needled online". There are other terms for it...

You gave me your word that you would put me on ignore. But you have broken your word. Your word is worthless.

Most Canadians live within two hundred miles of the US border. There is plenty of room for others. Canadians should share. Americans share the USA with Latin Americans. Canada should do the same. Be compassionate. Open your hearts.

I agree, we can help out a few, actually we already have, check the demographics for Surrey and Richmond and the ethnic groups that have taken over there have just created a little Iran and Pakistan, full of f**kin' terrorists, so how do you "open the gate while controlling the flow"? I'm more for sending them a couple of $$ and letting them figure things out in their own country. You can change the location but you still have the same problematic person, some of the bastards don't abide by our rules.

I'm sure all those residents of Surrey and Richmond will be delighted to hear they live amongst scores of terrorists. I think the warning would ring truer if you removed your racism and changed the locales to Ottawa and Washington DC, those towns are definitely full of terrorists.

I didn't get that way in a day or a week. LOL

I can't speak for Ottawa and D.C. but I do know people and have relatives who have lived on the Lower Mainland. I also hear the news daily about the targeted shootings etc. But if Ottawa and D.C. are much the same by all means. My definition of "terrorists" may be a little broader than normal, I believe they are anyone who causes others to live in fear. You may judge people by race, Nick but I judge people by behaviour!

What baffles me is why is our Govt recruiting workers to immigrate from Asia instead of the US? I have yet to see a Flip carpenter or welder on a jobsite.

There are many people from India in Surrey as well as many other locations in BC and yes Richmond is full of Chinese and Japanese and Koreans but the lower mainland is not full of terrorists. They have some issues with gangs fighting for control of drug trafficking in areas but I'm actually ok with them killing each other off.

My definition of terrorists is attacking unarmed civilians in order to create fear among the populace. By this definition DC is full of the biggest terrorists around. They don't just terrorize other countries but they also terrorize their own citizens. It doesn't need to be bombs and guns to create the fear, propaganda works just as well on an unsuspecting population.

Probably because our govt works for big business interests and the Asian labor is much cheaper.

The Lower mainland is the only hole above ground. It's something to behold.

I hear you Nick, but still the way it is is worse than it should be already. Just from the point of view of driving alone we've seen many fatal accidents involving immigrant drivers who are aiming 80 tons down the highway on bald tires and faulty brakes...........several on Upper Levels highway alone. Do you want to encourage more of this sh*t. Same with farm vehicles in the Fraser Valley. One on the Coquihalla in the past 6 months.

Thanks to the Caste system, driving is considered an elite job.

You're preaching to the choir about drivers. I am a class 1 driver for a living. I know all about the incompetent drivers out there and they aren't all foreigners. A lot of them are but not all.

No, no, those towns are populated with idiots, not terrorists. Big difference. They do the same damage but use fewer incendiary devices.

Would newborns also do so?

If not, it would probably be a good idea to negotiate that with a separate Scotland. If you keep a common citizenship, then at least while the government administration would be affected, the people would not be so negatively affected.

I would be able to have a Scottish passport because I'm three-eighths Scottish.

I suppose anyone who would be born in England with at least one parent who is Scottish would also be able to hold a Scottish passport.

It's like the television historian Dan Snow. His British father is BBC television journalist Peter Snow, and his Canadian mother is Ann MacMillan, Managing Editor of CBC London Bureau. So Dan (who is also the great-great-grandson of Britain's WWI PM David Lloyd George) has both a British and a Canadian passport.

You got the picture, S.L.M. but what difference does it make whether the reason for being an a$$hole is due to behaviour, lack of intelligence or race...............regardless they cause disruption in peoples' lives!
