Proving a tax bonanza is what is going to make pot legal in other jurisdictions. No government can resist a revenue stream that people are basically demanding to pay.

And those businesses in Colorado are going to have a huge advantage if they start scaling their businesses now...

That's funny. Profits from weed is going to rehab drunks, jib rats and crack heads.

I read that too! lol

But I have a hunch that funds will be diverted. Our governments are just as addicted to nicotine than smokers are.

I think he is a pretty good actor. And I am glad he kicked his habit. Not everyone has the danglers to kick it, unfortunately.

Retail Marijuana Sales top $1 Billion in Colorado

Across the United States, legal weed sales topped $5.4 billion in 2016, up nearly 18% from the previous year.

In Colorado, legal recreational retail sales of marijuana began in January of 2014 with $313 million in recreational sales and $384 million in medical sales. In 2015, while medical sales only rose a modest 5.6%, recreational sales increased more than 87% to $587.7 million.

In data released Thursday Feb 9, 2016, legal sales topped $1.3 billion, with recreational accounting for $875 million of the total. The weed revenue has largely been a boon for local and the state economies, yielding $100s of millions in tax revenue.

I know lots of pot smokers. Definitely not the brightest bunch but like cigarette smokers I'm fine with it.
