Trump Jr. was told in e-mail of Russia's role in Clinton info: report

A meeting between President Donald Trump's eldest son and a Russian lawyer during the presidential campaign occurred at the behest of a Moscow-based singer with family ties to Trump's businesses, according to a participant in the talks. Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged Monday he made time for the meeting hoping to get information about Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The circumstances surrounding the meeting, and a report by The New York Times late Monday that Trump Jr. was told ahead of time that the source of the information was the Russian government, fueled new questions about the Trump campaign's possible ties to Moscow, which are being scrutinized by federal and congressional investigators.

The Times reported that Trump Jr., who was a key campaign adviser to his father, was told the Russian government was behind the information on Clinton in an email from music publicist Rob Goldstone. The Times cited three unnamed people with knowledge of the email.

The report is the first public word that Trump Jr. accepted the meeting with the understanding that he would be presented with damaging information about his father's political opponent and that the material could have emanated from the Kremlin.

Goldstone spoke to The Associated Press earlier Monday to confirm he had set up the meeting on behalf of his client, Emin Agalarov, but he did not disclose the contents of the email described by The Times. Goldstone did not immediately respond to attempts to contact him Monday night.

In a statement, Trump Jr.'s New York-based attorney Alan Futerfas called the Times report "much ado about nothing," though he acknowledged his client had received an email from Goldstone to set up a meeting with the purpose of passing along damaging information on Clinton. His statement did not dispute the Times report on the email.

Futerfas said Trump Jr. was not told the specifics of the information and nothing came of the meeting. "The bottom line is that Don, Jr. did nothing wrong," Futerfas said in the statement, noting that the younger Trump hasn't been contacted by any congressional panel or Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office.

The White House referred questions to the president's son. Mark Corallo, a spokesman for President Donald Trump's outside legal team, would not comment on the Times story, reiterating only that Trump "was not aware of and did not attend the meeting."

Earlier Monday, Trump Jr. tried to brush off the significance of the meeting, tweeting sarcastically, "Obviously I'm the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent ... went nowhere but had to listen."

Trump Jr. also said on Twitter he was willing to work with the Senate intelligence committee, one of the panels probing possible campaign collusion, "to pass on what I know."

"Oops: The New York Times Accidentally Exposed 'The Hillary Clinton-Russia Nexus'!

Below is the incredible New York Times editorial* published on Thursday that lays out the case for how the Hillary Clinton campaign was colluding with the Russian government, and then tried to cover it up by blaming her election loss on Russian President Vladimir Putin."

You have done just fine by yourself.
The trouble with caps lock rants in your style defending FAKE NEWS at CNN's youtube channel:
;)
no substance
:)
besides: CNN has already eaten it's own liver world wide - no need to kill a stiff is there?
It's more fun to watch it do the ol' death dance for as long as it takes to drop.

It is interesting to note the lengths you have gone to to cover up the crimes of that genocidal traitorous criminal beatch though.

Were you on anthony weiner's laptop?

if you don't like what you're hearing all you have to do is shout "fake news"

almost as brilliant as a "no, you are" response.

I can't wait for the quibbling about what collusion actually means.

Emails show Trump Jr. was told Russian government had material that could 'incriminate' Hillary Clinton

The emails with music publicist Rob Goldstone show that Trump Jr. was told the Russian government had information that could "incriminate" Clinton and her dealings with Russia.

Trump's son told a person promising him damaging information about Clinton: "If it's what you say I love it."

Olympus Mons
And thread # 4028 by Flossie on Trump. It's funny too. Thread after thread from the flosstard about collusion with the Russians while he deftly avoids the collusion between Obama and Trudeau's Liberals.
Funny how flossie finds it perfectly acceptable that the Obama administration directly interfered in our last federal election, and yet he's furiously beating his meat like it owes him money because he thinks Trump is on his way out over "collusion" with a foreign country.

Maybe if you weren't such a partisan a-hole flossie, people would take you more seriously. I mean c'mon, if Russia is such a big enemy to the US, then why would Hillary have allowed them ownership of 5 US uranium mines? Was Russia the enemy then or did they only become an enemy again because Clinton wasn't elected?

Will Flossie answer this tough question or will he in his usual fashion, puss out and go on to make up a few dozen more anti-Trump threads? Stay tuned for another exciting episode of, "Flossie Dodges the Question".

like I said a NOTHING BURGER

MOSCOW — The Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. during the presidential campaign denied in an exclusive interview with NBC News that she had any connection to the Kremlin and insisted she met with President Donald Trump’s son in 2016 to discuss sanctions between Russia and the U.S., not to hand over information about Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“I never had any damaging or sensitive information about Hillary Clinton. It was never my intention to have that,” Natalia Veselnitskaya said.

The house is really coming down now.

Donald Trump Jr. may have crossed the legal line on collusion

“It's as close as you can get to a smoking gun” of whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, said Jeffrey Jacobovitz, a white-collar lawyer who represented officials in the Clinton White House and now is with Arnall Golden Gregory. And it could mean Trump Jr. crossed the legal line on collusion with Russia.

First, a reframing of the way we think of collusion. Collusion actually is a political term; there's no line in the criminal code that says you go to jail for colluding with a foreign adversary.

But you can go to jail for conspiring with a foreign adversary to influence or undermine an election, and Jacobovitz thinks what Trump Jr. did, as documented by emails he himself shared on Twitter, could rise to that level.

“Absolutely,” Jacobovitz replied when asked if these emails firm up evidence that Trump Jr. had intent to commit a crime by conspiring with the Russians. “You may have crossed the line on conspiracy to commit election fraud or conspiracy to obtain information from a foreign adversary,” he said. “You cannot benefit from a foreign adversary in this kind of scenario.”

Sounds more and more like Watergate. Not 1 piece of evidence was presented that showed beyond a doubt what was going on, but a hundred bits and pieces that showed America that Nixon was a crook,.

Looks like it'll be the same thing for trump. Unless his head explodes before it all. which is quite the possibility given the toddler in chief is as who he is and all.
