Well there is enough coasters and islanders here we can really chat up about the weather. It pouring, andygal can attest to that. And you always know you got a gutter problem when the rain sounds like a water fall outside your window :? :?

See, peapod, this is a perfect example of why I feel like the outsider. We wouldn't care what the rain sounded like, as long as we got some. And snow? I am burning up - wishing I could turn the A/C on, but it's so freakin' expensive. Summer in November.
Really puts everyone in the mood to Christmas shop. NOT!

As an aside, a local department store advertised:

This 80 degree weather won't last forever...be prepared...buy a coat now.

I don't really do christimas uncle, I refuse to be a clog in the wheel of commerce, blah! hum. I give my friends and foes gifts all year round, I happen to know a little of the south, I helped frito with some genealogy..his ancestors left louisiana, seem they were involved in a lynching...but we cannot confirm, they turned up on vancouver island. This might have something to do with my anti-american stance, as I have had to put with that clan since childhood

Percy ... I'm creating a noose as we speak and gathering the mob. I kinda think anyone who complains about warmth is somehow deranged! I can lay on a rock in the sun for days, like a big ole lizard and melanoma be damed!

Us heat seeking missile types are shivering under mountains of blankets and it's barely begun here. We have the heat on high, the windows shut, am wearing a big sweater and still pissing and moaning about the cold. You should have seen me in the interior of BC where it got -30! I was intolerable! ;)

Gotta admit I don't miss that crap. But it hasn't taken me long to get entirely spoiled and start complaining on days I need to wear a jacket!

I love all kinds of weather! I'd hate to have only one type of weather. I love being all bundled up and toasty going for walk during the winter. Puddle jumping during the rain (my daughter and I use to do this all the time) Love to roast out in the sun sit and be lazy.

I love the wind storms that seem to only really happen on the island! Listening to the wind howl from the comfort of my living room!

This is why I love BC Coast. You can enjoy all of the types of weather without the risk of dying from heat exhaustion or hypothermia. We really do have the best weather. A bit of everything without the severity...unless you live in the interior.

We do gots those storms over here twinks. 8) They even have made a business of it up in tofino, a few have been washed away by a rouge wave. Amazing seeing it tho. Also not uncommon is downpour for hours, sun for 10 minutes, than downpour, sometimes it gets confused, and it downpours and the sun shines at the same time. Oh well, thats island living

We in Nanaimo, on vancouver Island(the mainland to islanders)are just about, but not quite into our biblical rain, you know, "forty days and forty nights" but we still have a retort to Albertans complaining about the rain, and that is: You Don't Have To Shovel it!

When I was little my mom would take me and my sisters to Clover Point to watch the waves crash on windy days. I remember being terrified I'd get blown away! I'd hang on as tight as I could to my mom's hand. I also remember wearing "Khangaroo' jackets.

It's one of the things I miss about living on the Island. Wind storms.

swirling in the abyss of nowhere la
We have no snow here yet...although they keep threatening us with flurries, but we have no mountains and our altitude is actually quite low. We've had rain...dear lord have we had rain...and I think I might see a little blue sky somewhere out there. I know I'm on the wrong coast, but wanted to offer my 2 cents. It is getting cooler here...only about 6 degrees, blech

Was Victoria, now Ottawa
Tofino is Canada's paradise. I can see why people are content to earn minimum wage working in a surf shop just to live out there. I do remember the rain in Victoria in december. Didn't feel like Christmas.

I heard yesterday that Moosejaw had 2 feet of heavy snow. My friend's parents were trapped in their driveway. They are older,
of course, and couldn't lift the snow with a shovel to back the car out.

Shoot, you mention the word "snow" around here, and there is a stampede to the grocery store. We hear stories like the Moosejaw snow, but it never happens here. Uh-oh. Maybe I better not brag - knock on wood. Still running the A/C here.

I spoke to soon uncle :? its raining here now. :? Thats what happens when you brag :p
People still talk about the snow storm that happened here a few years ago, mostly because of the strange things that happened. The whole city being shut down, and people coming out in droves to help one another, it was really something to see, makes you kinda wish for another snowfall like dat
