While i myself would never hit a women for any reason, i wouldnt really for bad for a women who goes out of her way to pick a fight.....The bus driver was clearly tougher than the lady, and he should have just told her to leave and if she didnt than the authorities should have been brought in to be involved. Now if a female bus driver had beaten the **** out of that lady i also wouldnt have had a problem with it, and would have viewed it the same as a man on man fight.... For the most part us men are physically stronger than most women so naturally its going to be an unbalanced fight.

This Cleveland RTA driver looked to be 220+ pounds, and he hits this lady in the face like she was a man. All he had to do was remove her off the bus, he didn't have to continue to fight her. This is way out of control anger, and not self defense as the women only hit him once and didn't continue to attack, and she should be charged.
He is the supposed to be the professional here and he antagonizes her by saying she was ugly and her face was all cut up.
Also, the bus company should also be responsible for the drivers safety here, the girl was able to assault him.. why??
They do have bus driver cages.. not a very good Union. In a post 9/11 setting I am surprised that more bus companies do not protect their drivers better.

So you'd just sit there and get the sh*t kicked out of you, possibly being sent to the hospital due to your injuries?
You'd still do nothing if they pulled a knife or gun to possibly kill you?
If they decided to attack a family member you know wouldn't be able to defend themselves, you'd just sit by and do nothing? Or you'd try and restrain them from harming you or others.... I never start a fight, and will use words to get my point across, but once physical violence is added into the situation, all bets are off and I will defend myself.
This isn't the 50's anymore, when most women don't know how to defend themselves or attack.... Most know how to throw a good punch and can cause some serious injury, knowing where to hit.

I'm inclined to partly agree. First of all I would like to make it clear that I don't agree with men hitting women under any but the most adverse circumstances, but then again there is the exception to every rule. First of all any women who antagonizes a man just because she is "daring" him to hit her is acting in a cowardly fashion (much as I would be if I started taunting Cassius Clay) I have no problem with those who would never hit a woman, that is praiseworthy but could also result in them getting badly hurt or worse. If a woman wants to be "equal" (actually impossible) to a man then it has to apply to all aspects. You can't suck and blow at the same time.

My dad drove bus in Vancouver for over 35 years. I know many stories of drivers being beaten and threatened for reasons as stupid as asking a drunk-disorderly passenger to get off to asking someone to exhale their last puff before getting on. It is not an easy job.
A professional what? He is a driver, not a therapist or a doctor. He has emotions just like the rest of us and sometimes we all get pissed-off at another's ignorance and stupidity.

WTF does this dumb b*tch have to do with 9/11? Was she going to drive the bus into a building? How is caging the driver going to stop a passenger putting a bomb under their seat. This isn't a terrorist attack or is the bus system a major target that would be easy to protect anyhow.
Do you notice which side the driver sits on. The British have had the driver separate from the passengers since I was a kid in the sixties. Look at the old double-decker buses and he was completely removed.
