I think that the witness against the judge was 110 percent credible. It would not surprise me that 75% of TV viewers believe her as well.

The judge might just decide to wait it out and lose the senate vote on confirmation just so he can keep his job as an appeals judge which he now has and blame the loss of the senate vote as being political. If the judge withdraws, he could not very well expect to keep his job as an appeals judge.
Looks like you like that statement so much you used it on two separate threads .

Ford testifies that the accused and his friend were really drunk and laughing uproariously. Then goes on to say she felt she was about to be killed.

Just sayin...

I don't know how credible this information is ....

Daughter Of CIA Assassin Paymaster Tries To Bring Down Trump Supreme Court Nominee Kavanaugh
An intriguing in-depth new Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that a Stanford University Psychiatry Professor named Dr. Christine Blasey has become the latest centerpiece of a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) plot to harm President Trump with her last-minute allegation, just days prior to US Senate confirmation, that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh had attempted to sexually assault her over 30 years ago when they were teenage school children—while being kept from the American people about Dr. Blasey is that she currently oversees the CIA Undergraduate Internship Program Stanford University developed by the notorious CIA-connected Stanford University Psychiatric Professor Dr. Frederick T. Melges—who himself, in 1985, took into his care the homeless woman Lois Lang who assassinated CIA paymaster Nick Deak—and that afterwards saw the CIA’s black operations monies being controlled by Ralph G. Blasey Jr.—who, not so mysteriously, just happens to be the father of Dr. Christine Blasey. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]

All this proves is that 99% + are making opinions based on a small fraction of the information that surrounds all of US politics and subterfuge. Our opinions are being handed to us by those in control of the media and the vast majority of people do not have a clue what is really going on.

Isn't this whole affair just a bit Woody Allen-esque?

Most of the Women-

"She's crying about an assault that happened 36 years ago!. How can you not feel sorry for her?

Most of the Men-

"She's crying about an assault that happened 36 years ago! How can you possibly feel sorry for her?
you speak for nobody

My simple critical analysis:

Dr. Ford was absolutely believable.

Brett Kavanaugh was absolutely believable.

The "witness" statements all support Kavanaugh.

There is no concrete evidence.

Kavanaugh wins.

Confirm him.

Anything to avoid an investigation, eh?

By the way, you're Canadian, aren't you? I have a question.

What the f*ck do you care who is the ninth member of the U.S. Supreme Court?

I couldn't name anybody on Canada's highest judicial body. Hell, I can't even name Canada's highest judicial body, and I have a mild but real professional interest.

I'm gonna take up that question:

The United States is our neighbour, the first modern democracy, our best friend (still), leader of the free world, and the most powerful nation on earth.

It matters how they develop.

There is no more essential aspect to their future development than the makeup of the SCOTUS.

The justices serve fr life, thus exercise much more influence on that development than does any president or congress.

Thus I am interested.

And I'm a bit of a nerd. :)

Again, I don't mean to be crass or a bully but Ford testified the two 15 year olds were very inebriated and laughing uproariously. Then in her next breath states that she thought she might be killed.

Is it just me, or does this all seem a little odd? Two drunk and giggling boys...about to kill her?

On the other side of the coin, I felt Kavanaugh came across as smug and defiant...bordering on hysterical. Is this the temperament they want at the helm of the highest court in the land?

Hoid,

My serious take on all of this?

I think a very drunk and very young Kavanaugh pulled a 'David Cop-a-Feel' on this girl. Does this give her the right to claim to be emotionally scarred for life? To bring it all up 36 years later? I dunno, it didn't happen to me.

I'll bet millions of girls from that era have a 'David Cop-a-Feel' moment from their past...and just moved on with their lives figuring "You have to kiss a few frogs before you find your Prince".

They were, according to her testimony, drunk as lords..........and she testified that she thought he might kill her by accident, by covering her mouth when she tried to yell for help.

Consistent.

I have no doubt she believes her own accusation.

Yes but are they subliminally planted memories ? If she cannot remember where and when ,and didn’t confront the issue for twenty odd years in a confidential conversation with her Dr. Yes it appears somewhat contrived . I don’t know or care if Kavanaugh deserves the nomination , but if politics continue to play out this way the outcome can’t be good . We have had our far share of unfounded accusations here in Canada as well of late and in my opinion it is getting sleazy . Would you encourage your offspring to enter that circus .

I've digested most of today's hearings and I've come to the conclusion that I can't stand both Ford AND Kavanaugh.

She embodies a vindictive whiny prude, while he smacks of smugness and arrogance. Put em both in a barrel and throw them over the Falls for all I care.
