thanx - it is very exciting football

Can you get TSN down there gopher, probably a stupid question but that is where I watch the games. We are going to have another great season this year. Some of the teams that were in the building stage last year will provide even more competition. The Ti-Cats come to mind, they were did pretty well last year and I really like their coach, though I can't spell his name.8O

Nope. Cannot get TSN. We cannot get satellite TV in our building, only cable.

Do you have any buds that get satellite? You could get them interested in the CFL and watch the games with them.... just a suggestion. Sure would like to be able to talk over the games with you and hear your opinions.

Sorry to say, not here. Folks in this area are HUGE Vikings fans. There are many Packers and Bears fans as well. The Gophers also have a following. Thus, there are no CFL fans around here, sorry to say.

A couple of years ago a local indy network carried the games midway through the season. Unfortunately, they got very low ratings and the network dropped all coverage. That's too bad as it sure was fun to watch those games.

Back in the late 60s/early70s there was an indy network that carried CFL broadcasts in NYC. I tell you in truth that the league played an even more exciting brand of football back then.

I can understand why most Americans wouldn't be interested in the CFL. I'm sure it would be like watching baseball played on a triangle and not a diamond.

Kreskin opined thus:

"I can understand why most Americans wouldn't be interested in the CFL. I'm sure it would be like watching baseball played on a triangle and not a diamond."

Actually, since the field of any CFL game is wider and longer than that of a real football game, perhaps a more appropriate analogy would have been baseball being played on a pentagon. (For the intellectually challenged, pentagon is a field with 5 (five) sides.)

Winnipeg Embalmers, all the way!!!

When the NFL comes north of the border the CFL games will get better because a lot of players are going to use the CFL as a stepping stone into the NFL

there have been several great players who went from cfl to nfl such as,

Warren Moon
Joe Kapp
Jeff Garcia
Doug Flutie

But the best one in my mind was rugged Cookie Gilchrist. This guy was a tough hard hitting firebrand. In those days they didn't come any tougher. What a player!

What an amazing career, and eventful in so many ways.

I like this: He is the only player in both countries to be named MVP. That's one record that might never be replicated.

Wish I had satellite radio so I could tune into tomorrow's game on CKRM, that not being possible, I will have to wait for updates from my sister, on the half hour to be sure.

The BC Lions travel to Regina for the first exhibition game of the season in Mosaic stadium. Sask fans can hardly wait as shown by the near sell-out crowd that will pack the stands on game day.

Darian Durant gave all fans a bit of a scare when he injured his index finger in practise on Friday, but was ready to go today - thank heavens. All other players are healthy and from all reports, looking forward to meeting the pussycats on Sunday.

GO, RIDERS, GO.

Yes, rarely, don't know why they named it football, in europe soccer is called football, my dad being an
irishman, called it football, and he played it very well. don't know what
the word soccer even means, maybe someone here can explain it.

Oh goodie. A home game. It's just like St Patricks day every second sunday in Regina. Drunk people wearing green.
